Hope you are well.
Another month of birthdays for Mummabstylish with mine, grand-daughters, sons and son-in-law quite close together so another expensive month for me!
The weather is still playing havoc with my daily outfits, falling back on my jeans, boots and jumpers and I can't wait to wear some pretty 'Spring' dresses soon - I've bought two new ones this week and can't wait to share them with you. I also had a browse in H & M and Zara yesterday - just love all the styles going on, but they do seem to be very similar to lots of bits I already have in my collection! I was walking around thinking 'I've got similar to that' and 'this will look great with those in my wardrobe'!! Anyone else think the same?
I want to ask you a question.
Do you like Shackets?
They are the cross between a shirt and a jacket. I've been seeing them for ages but didn't think they were really me. You see I've been having dilemma's! Is my style a little too classic? Should I try to entertain more fashion into my looks? I decided to give it a go ... let me know what you think of my turn-around on the shacket style.
I found this blue, grey and black shacket in my local F & F. They had a couple that I liked and I took a chance on this one for size & fit obviously not allowed to try on in store! I did toy with the idea of buying it and taking it outside to try on and return if no good, but decided that would be silly - lol.
So it came home with me and I'm glad it did. You may have seen my new addition on IG and I'm also pleased to say it looks good on! What do you think?
I love the concept of two items rolled into one.
A shacket is often in a checked fabric and would be worn a tad oversized - it would be thicker than a jacket but thinner than an over- coat just perfect for layering and good with jeans, joggers and skinny leggings too. It's relaxed but kinda of dressy too.
I know this can be belted in the middle not that I've tried it yet but I reckon that'll look super stylish too.
Mine has four pockets ... two on the bust line and two hidden in the side. The fastenings are press studs - no fiddly buttons to undo. The colours compliment my faux leather jeans & also look fab with jeans.
I was extremely pleased with the price too ... £25 & having worn it a few times already I'm very tempted to get this pretty pink one as well.
I picked black faux leather jeans and bright blue top to tie everything together. Heels to style it up and would happily wear trainers for a more urban feel.

ReplyDeleteI know this trend isn't for me - I tend to like lighter layers - but this looks great on you, I like the pop of blue from your top with it too!

ReplyDeleteThese are great photos and I think you are rocking the shacket! I haven't tried one myself yet but I do think they're cute. And phew, that is a lot of birthdays this month! Birthdays are always so fun though, in my opinion, so hopefully it's a good time. Although I understand how they add up quickly, haha!

ReplyDeleteYou look lovely, love the photo location! I am still not sure about my shacket, I don't opt to wear it that often! Michelle xx
ReplyDeleteThat shacket looks great with those pants and I have been eyeing this whole shacket trend and wondering if I want to try it, too. My son has a birthday in May, so that is our only birthday for this month.

That's a lovely shacket, it looks great with the faux leather trousers. I only have one shacket and I don't wear it enough - I need the weather to improve...it's been very wet and windy up north!
