Mellow Yellow Maxi Dress - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello there my lovely blogging friends.
How are you all doing?

It's been lovely to enjoy some warmer weather over the past couple of days, even had the roof off my car and soaked up the sunshine whilst I was driving around.  Hubby bought me a new car for our anniversary last month and my convertible has been a joy to drive, I must admit I am a very spoiled & lucky lady. 💕

I've also been lucky enough to style another item from the Bonmarche website too!  Take a look at this super classic maxi dress.*  I seem to be drawn to a yellow maxi dress as I've got two in my wardrobe already!  See this one I wore to the beach in the UK and one I wore in Spain.  To me a sunny lemon shade brings on the sunshine for the dreary days we often have in the UK, and I adore wearing it on holiday too.  I do hope we can start getting away safely soon, I can't tell you how much I long to get away, I'm sure I'm not the only one.  Have you booked a trip abroad yet?

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

This mellow yellow dress has been a wonderful addition to my dress section.  I love a maxi and find them brilliant to wear on sunny days, I will also be a great little piece for holidays (when we can get away safely).  I, for one. can't wait to get packed up for a little vacation to somewhere anywhere warm and sunny with plenty of wonderful food and a few glasses of fizz.

Let's share a little about this pretty maxi with you.  It's a true fit, so I'd recommend you buy your usual size.  It's available in sizes 8 - 18, although it's proving to be a popular garment & is selling well in the larger sizes.
The sleeveless dress has a flattering V neckline with buttons to fasten.  I'm smitten with the empire line dress and the colours make it a match made in heaven for me, it also has the addition of a removable tie belt which looks great tied in a side bow but I'd be happy to add a sturdy white belt for an interesting change sometimes.  I'm imagining wearing tan with this elegant maxi too, any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated my friends.

Rather than pulling the white from this dress for accessories I decided to pair bright red with it. (These are similar)  I'm still unsure whether it's a mix I'm liking, but for now I'm going with it.  What are your thoughts, my safe white or the more daring red accents I'm wearing here?  Do tell me what you'd opt for!

Last but not least here's the icing on the cake ... how lovely is this ruffle on the hem?  I think a fancy finish like this is perfect for the feminine dress I'm wearing today. x

  4. What a lovely maxi dress! I agree with you, yellow is such a cheerful colour to wear! congrats on the new car too :) it would be so nice to travel overseas but our borders are still closed here in Australia sadly! I don't like the idea of the 2 week hotel quarantine if you manage to snag a rare overpriced flight back into Australia either, haha!

Thank you for the link up!

Hope you are having a nice week :)

  7. What a cute dress! I love the color and style. The car sounds so nice. I didn't think people who live in the UK even drove cars. I've taken several vacations already, but none abroad. I doubt I will ever travel abroad again if they continue on with all their restrictions and requirements.

  9. Fabulous dress, Jacqui! I love this bold yellow color on you. The red accessories are super fun, too! I think it would look great with tan or black or even dark purple accessories as well and maybe a moto jacket when the weather cools. Thanks for hosting!

  10. Oh a convertible: that is one fun gift! I can just imagine a breeze with sunshine while driving! This is a pretty dress and I love how you chose a nice contrasting color to pair with it. I booked an overnight trip for hubby and I for our anniversary: it has been at least 4 years since we've left the kids. My brother will babysit and we will enjoy some waterfalls, hiking and maybe some ziplining.

  16. Such a happy dress! I’m a big fan of yellow too. It really is your color. Looks so pretty with your dark hair.

We did take a summer vacation to North Carolina to visit my step-daughter who recently moved there. Now we are making plans to move there too. We drove to limit Covid exposure (even though we are vaccinated), and to see the countryside. It’s a 4 day drive. But I’d love to be able to go somewhere without having to do a risk assessment every time.
