Style Not Age are Pretty in Pink.

Morning my friends.
Hope you're doing well.
My oh my, didn't September fly by, tell me who's started buying Christmas Presents already?  I've made my list and will try to get bits and pieces throughout the month and hopefully will manage to get all I want.  There's rumors of not being able to get much in the run up to Christmas due to a shortage of lorry drivers, I do hope the get the situation sorted out as we've all had enough of crap times haven't we!

Saturday night, after a quiet day hubby and I went out to dinner with my daughter and hubby.  After finding out one of our favourite restaurants has now closed down, much to our devastation, we ended up in Cote Brasserie.  Annoyingly it wasn't our first or second choice, but nothing worked in our favour time-wise so we ended up in there.  We didn't think it would be any good, especially when being told after we had our drinks that half the menu wasn't available!  They had been waiting for a delivery from the day before!  Bizarrely the delivery arrived whilst we were there and they managed to find more items that we wanted.  We ended up having a really nice three course meal and a few glasses of fizz, and enjoyed a night with our family before the approaching arrival of their first baby in November ... I can't wait. 💖

Now back to the Style not Age prompt - Pretty in Pink. I was so pleased when Anna picked this as her choice.  Pink is my all time favourite shade and although I don't have much in my wardrobe it's a colour I love to wear.  I suppose it's because it's associated with being girly and graceful, the type of person I like & try to be and think I am, it doesn't always work because I'm often found in jeans or track-suits and not at all very feminine. Lol.

You may be aware that pink is my favourite colour 😜 although it's not one I wear that often and when looking for something to wear for the challenge my options were sparse!  I did pick up a really pretty buffet dress back in the Summer but felt there wasn't any room to make it look any different.  That's where a recent shopping trip with my daughters came up trumps!

As I mentioned before, I don't have much in the way of pink so went looking for another dress last week.  I spotted these trousers as soon as I went into my local Marks and Spencer's.  I walked away thinking I still wanted to find a dress.  My daughter's found me and suggested I buy them too, and even found this blouse for me which was the perfect addition!  I bought both immediately, feeling happy that I'd been able to wear the wide legs with loads of other tops, jackets and jumpers I already had.  I also nipped into Primark and found these fancy cream boots, again my thing!  Well who doesn't like a cream boot with a sensible-but-elegant heel and pointed toe!

What can I say about these trousers!  Well they are so comfortable for a start.  You know when you just put something on and it feels right, that's just what these are like.  The length is great for me, and will also be suitable for trainers too.  They have pockets, although I don't think they are really needed as to put something in them will spoil the look.  Wide leg or palazzo style work well for my pear shape.  They sit prettily over my bum and skim down my thighs, they just even everything out perfectly.  I like to wear a fitted or tucked in top, thus creating a flattering silhouette.  If you're pear shaped, this is the style for you!

I popped on my black blazer to finish off the look, this is also from M & S, but in the sale a while ago.  Here's another version you might like.

Shall we have a look at what the prompt master chose?  Anna certainly didn't let us down with her inspiring pink outfit, and the beach shot showing a sultry Indian Summer backdrop is perfect.  You can read all the back story about her look over on the blog Anna's Island Style.

Next up it's Emma's turn.  What a creative choice you've made Emma, I'm rather taken with this match of pink and purple, so feminine and so right.  Her thoughts and ideas about the outfit can be found here at Style Splash.

Hilda - Over the Hilda opted for the perfect Autumn accessory, a pretty pale pink coat that works so well with the tan belt.  You'll get so much wear from this beauty Hilda. Do stop by the blog for all the details.

Finally let's take a tour round Gail's ensemble.  Another bright and positive cerise pink look that looks super on, the ruched detail on the side up is bang on trend.  More about this winning look can be found on the blog Is This Mutton.

Thanks so much for joining me and my four friends today, lovely to have you.  Do drop us a comment as we love hearing from you.  If you'd like to see more from the Style not Age collective catch August, July, June & April.
Cheerio for now. X

  1. Such a stylish outfit Jacqui! I love the trousers and the blouse looks fab with them. The jacket just finishes off the look perfectly. I bought a couple of pieces of jewellery from Pia in the sale with Christmas in mind. Goodness knows if the supply chain will be restored in time - just getting fuel is a challenge at the moment!

  2. Pink is such a great colour on you and I love the statement pants! Perfect with the printed blouse and it's nice you were able to have so much fun shopping and updating your wardrobe.

Sorry to hear about the shortages impacting deliveries though! I've been shopping for Christmas for a while now, haha! I usually start around June / July as we have big sales there, but I'm struggling with gift ideas for a few people so I need to hurry up with it!

Hope you had a great weekend :) We managed to enjoy some time outdoors despite the colder than usual spring weather!
