I Love Wearing Pink - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning all.
Wow, welcome September, I do hope you wont reward us by being typical Autumnal weather - I really would like a bit more summer sunshine to relish before cooler days strike!

A few weeks ago I was thrilled to go out for the day with three friends.  We went out to play ... well have a meal and a few drinks and we caught the train to do it!
I can't tell you how excited I was, you'd have thought I was a teenager getting out in the Summer holidays.
The station is just down the road so my daughter dropped me off.  Not having caught a train for a long time she told me where to go and what to do in order to buy a ticket at the machine and what platform to go to!  I sound like an idiot, but getting older and usually driving and not having been out much due to Covid really did squash my confidence.  It was so easy to get the ticket and I was soon waiting for the train to arrive, I'd asked my friends to look out for me, which they did and as soon as the train arrived I made my way to find them.

Arriving in Broadstairs we made our way down through the town, stopping at a little boutique "just to have a look" of course ... it's what us women do isn't it?  All four of us managed to find a pretty little gem in this shop and today I'm sharing mine with you!

Tie a scarf in a corresponding shade around a basic straw bag to compliment any outfit.  My cerise scarf does the job brilliantly for an eye-catching finish.

I'm ALWAYS drawn to pink, it's my favourite colour.  It's a really feminine shade that sheds positivity wherever it goes.  The buffet dress, which is probably what many would call a smock has been very popular over the summer months.  They are so easy to wear and have been the perfect style for lock-down figures, they cover a multitude of sins - many of which I've succumed to, like eating too much crap and drinking a bit more than I should!
The midi length is also rather flattering too, and by wearing it with trainers keeps everything elegant with a hint of non-conforming edginess.  I'm actually obsessed with mine from Hotter Shoes, they are ultra comfy and look so stylish on.

I teamed a white jean jacket over my dress keeping is clean and crisp and showing the dress off beautifully.

We were having a meal in a little Italian restaurant by the seaside, it overlooked the bay and as the weather was fair we had a good view and nice relaxed afternoon.  We chatted for hours, and didn't realise how quickly the time had passed.  We moved onto a little cocktail bar and again chatted and drank while the sun went down and the bar filled up.  We left just after and made our way home clutching our goodies, feeling full up and slightly tipsy ... what a fun afternoon I'd had.  A repeat performance is on the cards very soon!

  4. I'm off to meet three friends next week. It will be my first trip on a train for more than a year and I'm feeling just like you did! I'm dreading working out how to get a ticket from a machine! I used to travell my train all the time so it's really silly. Glad you had such a lovely time. I love your pretty outfit I must give some thought to what I will wear.

  8. I love this shade of pink, Jacqui, and it looks lovely on you. Tying a scarf on a bag adds such a nice touch! I know what you mean about lacking confidence to go out again. It's like relearning all the things we did naturally before!

  9. Jacqui, thank you so much for the feature! I do love rust for Fall. Your pink dress is so pretty and I see why you love pink. It does look great with so many colors too and with your complexion. I laugh at the "just looking", I am not great at just window shopping when surrounded by temptation!
