Burnt Orange & Baby Shower.

Hi there, hope all is good in your world.
All good here, I've had a lovely couple of days ... especially Sunday for my daughter's baby shower.

Most of you are probably familiar with what a baby shower is, but for those who don't know let me explain.  When a baby is on its way it's not only the parents who are excited, it's also a joyful time for grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all eagerly await the special arrival.  It's usual for the female family and friends to get together and have an enjoyable few hours having a drink, bite to eat and maybe play a few games.  Much like it's a male 'thing' to 'wet the baby's head' with a few drinks in the pub.  It's not everyone's 'cup of tea' but for those who do like to join in it's an exciting time to celebrate the anticipated arrival of a cherished baby.
So Yesterday was the suitable date for it to take place.  About 20 of us congregated at my eldest daughters' house to enjoy a beverage or two, some delicious snacks and join in the amusing games of guess the bump size of mum-to-be and guess the chocolate snack hidden in a nappy - urgh!
It's a fun time to relax and and enjoy some time together before baby makes an appearance.  It's also nice to take a gift for mum-to-be or baby too.

I decided to wear a dress, you know how much I love to don a dress for most occasions, this sale buy from Wallis worked a treat and felt the longer length and full arm was a great choice for the cooler weather we've been having.

I bought this one recently as I thought I would be a good addition to my holiday wardrobe, still haven't booked anything yet, but I'll keep you posted.  By contrast we've decided on dates for our skiing holiday - I'm so excited to start thinking about our Winter break and literally can't wait.

So let's tell you more about my outfit of the day.
You'll normally find me in a midi length rather than a mini.  I draw the line at just on the knee and have a couple that length I've worn in the past, but they're not really my thing.  I adore wearing this length, it's just so much more flattering on me.  Are you a fan of flouncy florals?
I figured this burnt orange dress would be a fitting style for wearing through the Autumn months and should it turn too cold I can pop a long sleeved T underneath and slip on tights or even leggings to give some extra warmth.

Do you see the hidden drawstring waist?  Proves to be another great feature for me.  You can cinch it in to enhance an hourglass shape, but should the necessity arise to give some extra room you can let it out a bit! I wore the tie in a neat little bow.  Reckon a tan belt could give the look a little more interest too!

I kept the pairing clean and simple choosing cream additions with my gorgeous Moschino bag and a pair of corresponding cream boots.  I love every inch of this outfit and felt really good in it - even got asked if someone could borrow it - now that's a winning combination in my eyes.

Now can I tempt you will a little food?  My youngest daughter (Little Berry Bakes) added another string to her bow and laid out an impressive graze board - both savory and sweet delights were on offer and I can honestly say I was tempted beyond belief to fall from my Keto diet.  If I'm completely honest I did have some biscuits and cake, oh and a glass of fizz, but I promised myself I'd be back on it in the week!

We snacked on this deliciously tasty graze board consisting of different cheeses, various cold cuts, crudities, dips and chutneys, crisps, sausage rolls and scotch eggs.  Finishing off the afternoon with cakes, brownies & blondies and oh-so-scrummy cookie slices.  Those cookie slices are actually amazing, I can't tell you how good they taste.  I wish I could send them to you, they are literally to die for!
