Hope all is good with you.
I met up with a couple of friends on Wednesday, we chatted for a few hours drinking tea and planning our up-coming trip to Scotland. With over a year of Covid to deal with this is the 4th attempt to get away to this little hotel on Loch Awe. I won't believe it's happened until we finally arrive!
David and I have been there before a few years ago and it's just the prettiest place by the side of a huge Loch. There's literally nothing around it and we drove for about half an hour without seeing much at all. So once we get there we'll explore in the day time and spend the rest of the time in the cosy sitting room ... that's right next to the bar! Oban is a short drive so we'll probably go there and maybe go to a distillery to sample some local offerings. 😉🧉 I'll be sure to keep you informed as to how it goes my friends.
If you follow me on IG you may have seen I've been totally spoiled by my husband recently ... he's bought me a few new jumpers and this week I've worn two already.
Check out what I paired them with & let me know what you think. X
I've often seen the Shein garments featured on blogs and Instagram. Hubby picked these and what a fantastic job he did, I might have to employ him as my stylist!
He knows me so well and I have to say I'm really happy with the choices he made. At first sight I was a bit dubious whether these sweaters would suit me, but once I'd tried them on and worked out what I was going to wear with them, I saw how good they looked!
This first jumper has an elastic waist that creates a slight peplum look. You can see it works really well with my jeans and the pretty finishing touch of pearls around the neck gives the top a nice feminine vibe. I grabbed my slouch boots to finish off the look and was really pleased with it. I'll be donning them on again with these jeans.
As I mentioned earlier I wasn't sure that I could wear a cropped jumper that has a risque ruched drawstring to show off a nice toned midriff. My days of wearing something like this are long gone, but I really wanted to wear it. You can see what I did .... I put on a corresponding grey T shirt under it and simply love how it looks. It's also makes for a warmer outfit with another layer - I'll be able to wear it like this with a long sleeve t shirt too.
I picked my 'mom' jeans from M & S to wear. They fit nicely and having lost a little bit of weight due to the Keto diet I'm following they feel quite good on.
Trainers were my chosen footwear - these are just so comfortable and look good with jeans as well as dresses. You can see how I've styled them with this stunning pink dress and with my linen top from Bonmarche.

I am writing a post about my experience with Shein! First time I ordered there. How good of your hubby to shop for you!
ReplyDeleteBoth jumpers are lovely! Your husband chose well. I particularly like the details on the neckline of the first one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely surprise to see me as the favourite this week!! Thank you so much, Jacqui! I'm thrilled!
ReplyDeleteYour hubby clearly has very good taste because he chose very well! Both jumpers look fabulous on you. Genius to wear a vest beneath the ruched one. I'm also loving the cropped jeans with the boots—a perfect alternative to skinny jeans!
Have a fabulous weekend!
Hugs

Away From The Blue
What pretty jumpers! I am sure you will get away this time, I still need to do a trip to Scotland - I've been to Edinburgh but that is all! Have a lovely week, love Michelle xx
ReplyDeleteLove both of your new sweaters! That first one is so pretty with the peplum hem and pearl detail!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
Well done: your hubby found some nice sweaters: I especially like that first one: the slight peplum and the color are really pretty! I feel like I am shopping each time I go into my closet: I bought quite a few sweaters/jumpers last year and have a nice variety. I actually still have some I need to take out of the storage box I have them in.

These are both such adorable jumpers, Jacqui! Hubby did a great job choosing them. I love the mint green on you and the pearly neckline is such a fun little detail. The cropped one looks really cute, too! I pulled out a cropped sweater this morning but I was too cold for any skin baring at all so I layered a long button down shirt underneath it. I think it's a fun way to wear the super cropped trend without showing any skin. Great post!
