Style not Age share the Eye of the Tiger.

Good morning my lovely friends.
All being well I'll be on the slopes enjoying a ski trip to Italy as you read this.  If not, I've caught the lurgy and I'm the one crying in the corner!  Seriously though it's causing a big problems for people having to do a Covid test before travelling and I understand why they have to be done, but it's not helping the travel industry is it.
All the family have been worried to some extent.  If the test was positive on Saturday I wouldn't have been able to fly or come away, with Covid running riot through schools etc it's been hard to know what to do - see the kids/grandkids or not - and you know how hard that's been not to see them like I do!!

Anyway less about that and more about the ladies from Style not Age.

This is the brand new challenge of 2022, and I'm looking forward to styling a suitable outfit.  I'm also excited to work with the fabulous ladies throughout the coming year - hope we will be able to actually meet up IRL too!
Emma - Style Splash led the way for the first challenge of the year and boy did it have me stumped!

How would you have fared with the prompt ... Eye of the Tiger.

"Tiger, Tiger burning bright!"

We certainly have some bright and cheerful looks today - what a lovely combination orange, black and cream are.
I took photos indoors for this look as the weather was naff and I didn't have someone around at the right time - but do you spot anything different in my dressing room?  I'll reveal all in the next post!

At Home With ... - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning all, how you doing?
Did you catch my post on Monday?  It had me dreaming of my holiday to Abu Dhabi last year, oh what a fabulous time David and I had.
I'm still eagerly awaiting my ski trip on Sunday, still praying that me and the rest of the family, who're travelling with me, are negative.  It's such a worry and puts an extra stress on vacations that's not wanted!  I do hope the days of hassle free travel are just around the corner.

I've still to pack my bag for my trip, I'm nervous about tempting fate, so am leaving it till nearer the time.  With that being said I don't take a lot and have everything I need already.  Skiing isn't really a dressy holiday.  I tend to wear jeans or tracksuits with comfy boots.  I've even been known to wear my slippers in the bar, when feet have been cooped up in tight ski boots all day it's so nice to relax in a pair of slippers.
One thing I will be taking is this coat.  The puffer will be right at home among the cooler climate and is sure to keep me warm when venturing out in the evening.  You may have seen my Instagram post showing it off on my trip to Rye last year, it certainly kept me warm that weekend.  At under £100 it's definitely been worth the money, and it'll be a welcomed addition throughout the coming Winters!

Abu Dhabi in November a Pre-Christmas Treat.

Morning, thanks for stopping by today.

Well I've only got 6 days to go until my holiday, which means 6 days to avoid getting Covid!
I have to test on Saturday before flying on Sunday, keep your fingers and toes crossed for me. 🤞
With so much red tape and tests before taking a holiday it's easy to see why people would be put off.
I was in the same situation back in November before I went on my trip to Abu Dhabi. But honestly it was worth the tests and form filling just to have a break in the sun.  If I promise to not make you to jealous, can I tell you a little bit about my holiday?

Bright Pink Shirt Love - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello my friends.
How you doing?
Not much to report here, I'm staying pretty quiet until my skiing trip with only going to classes and a couple of shops.  I don't need to replace any clothing for skiing, and have enough casual bits to take with me so I don't need anything new.  The only thing I wanted to get is a pair of white boots.  I ordered some from River Island which came and are lovely, the only problem is that they are a little bit too big - guess what?  Smaller size is out of stock - typical!  I'm hoping they might be back on in time to get them and go away!

Whilst I was looking in town the other week I did come across this stunning blouse from Primark.
Silky satin tops are on trend at the moment, and you simply can't go wrong with a plain blouse - especially when it's a delicious colour like this!

Styling a Shirt Dress from Roman.

Hello my friends, welcome to the blog and I'm so happy to see you here.
How's your January going?

I’m very carefully starting to look forwards to my skiing holiday.  All being well I'll be hitting the Milky Way in Sestriere.  It will be my second visit and I can't wait. The anticipation of what the weather and snow will be like thrills me.  I've skied for quite a few years now and have encountered nearly every senario, for instance ... icy slopes, too much snow, not enough snow, skiing in a snow storm, skiing in a blizzard, skiing in a cloud and the best skiing - in perfect sunshine with blue skies to boot.  I literally love every part of a skiing holiday, from getting to the airport to enjoying apres ski, are you a fan or would you give it a big old wide berth?

When I'm skiing I like to dress casually with a pair of jeans and a nice top or a tracksuit.  I've bought some gorgeous chunky boots to wear and hope they will complete a trendy outfit or two, I won't be taking any heels with me - just no good on the snow! 😆
Today I'm sharing a stylish shirt dress from Roman Originals, this I also won't be taking to the slopes!
But do let me know what you think of my versatile floaty frock.

Love my Pillow - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi my friends.
Hope your January is going well and living up to your expectations.
Covid is well and truly rumbling around the friendship bubble, I'm definitely thinking of isolating before my forthcoming holiday to Sestriere at the end of the month.  Random people I know are testing positive and it's a bit too close for comfort, especially since my son had it over Christmas - I'd hate to miss out on skiing this year!

Back to the gym this week with three classes including a couple of sessions in the gym.  I've been for a review and aim to get into a routine before or after my classes, just to increase my exercising and tone up (one of my New Year's Resolutions).  I have to admit to aching in places I've not ached in for a long time, but as they say "No pain, no gain".  Are you a fan of going to the gym?  Do share what you prefer to do. X

Last weekend I managed to get together with some good friends for a takeaway, we also exchanged 'Secret Santa' presents.  We've done this for a few years. We've set a limit of £10 and basically can buy anything that's suitable for the chosen person.  Either something that's helpful or funny.  There's been funny socks, face masks, mugs and books to name a few. There's also been a couple of risque, that I won't mention! 😆
See what my TWO presents were!

Pleasing Pleats from Roman.

Morning my friends.
How are you doing?

I'm making a concerted effort to get back on my blogging game as well as my social media sites.
After my holiday to Abu Dhabi and my weekend away in Scotland I've gotten all behind in posting, visiting and commenting on your blogs.  I aim to address that and get back to normal in the coming weeks.

My weekend came and went rather quickly.  It was the first session back at ballroom on Friday and I can't tell you how much I've missed it!  We were thrown straight into the Tango!  I kept thinking about the scene in 'The Full Monty' where Gaz (Robbie Carlyle) and friends were watching Gerald (Tom Wilkinson) in their dance class - I wonder if I look like them dancing in the village hall! 😊
Saturday night we had a takeaway with friends, not the usual raucous night we have with our good friends but we had a lovely evening talking of old times and planning new memories.
Sunday was a small family roast dinner affair, so small we ate at the kitchen table!  The total opposite to the usual dinner for 11 in the dining room! A tasty leg of lamb with trimmings was devoured by five of us.
I also looked after my grandaughter whilst her mum and dad took her brother to see Hot Wheels Monster Trucks at the 02, he loved it and got to view the monster trucks up close, what a treat for a 3 year old!  My little princess was an absolute joy and even though she's not stayed with me overnight before she was a pure angel.👼

Are you a fan of pleats?  I love to wear them as I find them just so flattering and ever-so lady like.  I have quite a few in my wardrobe and even have a stunning dress with pleats that looks amazing on.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

Grey & Off White Outfit - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning everyone.
How are you all doing?
I have a big apology for being a day late!  That what happens when we have a bank holiday at the beginning of the new year ... I lost a day!
So please do join the party and add to #Chicandstylish my friends!

I've popped into town twice this week, came home with a stylish roll neck jumper from H & M and a silky blouse from Primark.  I'll be sharing the latter with you soon, but until then, how do you like this neutral number with my wide leg trousers?

December Review.

Hello and welcome to the blog.
Lovely to have old and some new followers, it's great to have you join.

It seems like only yesterday I was sharing my November post's and now in the blink of an eye I'm telling you about my December Review.

Since returning from my holiday to Abu Dhabi (post soon) and my break to Loch Awe I was in 'full on getting ready for Christmas' mode.
My daughters' helped by getting some gifts sorted and I had a few days shopping in stores (the ones when your legs hurt from too much walking & yours arms ache from carrying too many bags and you just want to be watching the telly with a Prosecco!) I also did plenty of on-line shopping which, although I hate, proved so much easier - I feel defeated to say that but it was!
If you read my post on Bank Holiday Monday you'll know my day didn't go to plan, as like many of you we were hit by an un-welcomed present of Covid.  My son is back to normal now and back to work, and fortunately no-one else in the family caught it - thank god!

I was lucky to receive a gorgeous coat from Bonmarche and have loved styling it over the past few weeks.  I tend to wear neutral coats but every year I vow to pick a brighter option to add to my collection, but it never seems to happen, maybe this will be the year to change.  Anyway have a look at my salt and pepper grey version that has a cool neck detail and shiny buttons. X
