Pleasing Pleats from Roman.

Morning my friends.
How are you doing?

I'm making a concerted effort to get back on my blogging game as well as my social media sites.
After my holiday to Abu Dhabi and my weekend away in Scotland I've gotten all behind in posting, visiting and commenting on your blogs.  I aim to address that and get back to normal in the coming weeks.

My weekend came and went rather quickly.  It was the first session back at ballroom on Friday and I can't tell you how much I've missed it!  We were thrown straight into the Tango!  I kept thinking about the scene in 'The Full Monty' where Gaz (Robbie Carlyle) and friends were watching Gerald (Tom Wilkinson) in their dance class - I wonder if I look like them dancing in the village hall! 😊
Saturday night we had a takeaway with friends, not the usual raucous night we have with our good friends but we had a lovely evening talking of old times and planning new memories.
Sunday was a small family roast dinner affair, so small we ate at the kitchen table!  The total opposite to the usual dinner for 11 in the dining room! A tasty leg of lamb with trimmings was devoured by five of us.
I also looked after my grandaughter whilst her mum and dad took her brother to see Hot Wheels Monster Trucks at the 02, he loved it and got to view the monster trucks up close, what a treat for a 3 year old!  My little princess was an absolute joy and even though she's not stayed with me overnight before she was a pure angel.👼

Are you a fan of pleats?  I love to wear them as I find them just so flattering and ever-so lady like.  I have quite a few in my wardrobe and even have a stunning dress with pleats that looks amazing on.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

Elegant and glamorous.  Two words I would use to describe this leo print chiffon skirt.  I've long been a fan of anything Roman have to offer and have many items hanging in my wardrobe, some a good few years old, but the classic styles hold their own against modern trends. Check out this black and white shirt dress, my blue stretchy dress and the abstract dress I wore last week.

The skirt is more of a full maxi on me, some might be put off by this, but I rather like it.  I wore it with long boots and had leggings on as well.  My only negative is that it's doesn't have a lining so layering up is key to keeping warm in this thin skirt on a cold Winters day.
I picked out a grey roll neck that kept me nice and warm.  It's a fitted version that compliments the wide fluted skirt perfectly.
The skirt also comes in 5 different colours, * red, brown, khaki, khaki/pink and blue, they all have so many possibilities.  With a price tag of £35, this floaty skirt will please you for a dinner date with friends or dressed up with heels and a camisole for a date night or special occasion.
A blazer seems the obvious choice.  I love the interest the shiny buttons add as well as the puffed shoulder detail - a formal jacket, but worn over this delicious skirt it's soften the whole look.

All I need to tell you about is my dreamy Valentino bag. What a spoiled Mummabstylish I am as this was a Christmas present from hubby.  Prompt was black bag (gave him carte blanche there didn't I) & didn't he do well!  Full marks Mr B.
Favourite points are the chain handle and the striking tassel lock on the front. X

  4. You look fabulous, Jacqui. I only have one pleated skirt in my wardrobe and I hardly ever wear it because I always feel that pleats add bulk around my hips and tummy. I'm probably just imagining it because they look fab on everyone else!
I love the length of your Roman skirt, it's nice being quite long for a pleated skirt!
