Thanks so much for joining me today on what is Random Acts of Kindness Day.
What is a RAoKD you might ask, well let me give you a little insight.
Random Acts of Kindness Week takes place for one week each year, always taking place in mid-February. It's a week dedicated to kindness and taking that extra, conscious step to brighten somebody's day.It was created by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation with the intention of encouraging more harmony and kindness between people by offering thoughtful gestures of kindness, no matter how big or small. A Random Act of Kindness could be surprising a colleague with coffee and a bagel, complimenting somebody on a job well done or placing a funny note in your child's lunch box. There are so many ways that you can join in, spread some kindness and positivity, and possibly make someone's day!
I wanted to participate and surprise someone with a random act of kindness too. In the past I've heard of things like paying for the person behind's toll, paying for shopping for someone in a store and also paying for fuel at the petrol station. I got my thinking hat on and with the help of hubby decided to purchase a lottery ticket for the next person at the till. The cashier was really interested both with the special day and my blog, but when I asked her to hand the lottery ticket to the next person, she thought she might not be able to help!!!! Not sure why, so I decided to hand the ticket to a lady near me in my local Sainsburys. She was so shocked, but very happy and I hope her ticket is a winner. I wont even know if it is because I didn't ask her name. I hope she continues the trend and does something kind for someone else.
Let me give you a little insight as to how I knew about this special day. I was very kindly offered this lovely lingerie set and with that came this sustainable wash bag which has been specially designed to keep my new pieces in tip top condition.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
I always like to have matching sets of underwear and was pleased to receive this black ensemble from Playtex. This perfect silhouette bra* and briefs do just what they say ... giving a structured fit that creates the most wonderfully feminine shape. It's comfortable to the skin and smooth to the touch, and the full briefs give a firm hold with tummy control from the double layer of fabric.
Do you wash you smalls in a bag? It has to be the best way to keep them looking fresh and new and I've been delighted to use this 100% organic cotton bag. Just pop your laundry into this and place in the machine - wash items as per instructions and then hang to dry. What better way to be nice to your underwear, be nice to them and they'll be nice to you!
Price wise an absolute bargain - £25 for all three items which can be worn in other ways too. Matalan do have some stylish lounge wear which is just the job for lazy weekends and cooler evenings. Mine even looked good in the bar with my slippers on - see I told you I'd wear my slippers in the evening!
The bra set you can wear everyday. It's a classic style that has a fashionable twist by way of the sheer section within the graphic design. With satin microfibre cups that have flat seams for invisibility. An underwired, non padded bra with matching briefs that show style and elegance alike.
Points I like are the sturdy straps and briefs that hold in the right places.
Shop my Look!
Go on, spread a little joy and continue the kind gestures for Random Acts of Kindness Day!

I like the idea behind an act of kindness, I might try to implement it myself, Jacquie. The bra+briefs combo looks comfortable yet sexy :). Have a great weekend

I particularly like the loungewear Jacqui and the sensible cuffs on the cardigan. I have short arms and this would work a treat. I'm often directed to Matalan when I read your blog which I probably wouldn't think to do otherwise. Well done.

It's nice there is a week to celebrate random acts of kindness! I try do little things like pay for the person behind me at a fast food restaurant now and then to make them and the kids smile - the boys always get excited when we do it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link up!
Hope your week is going well :)

Jacqui, I love this post so much! You know RAoK are totally my jam! By the way, I always give a lottery ticket to the cashier when I buy them. I always have and always will and I always hope they win, too! It did come back around my way this past summer when my own ticket was a $5000 winner after I let the cashier pick the one she wanted. Isn’t that something else?! I love this lounge set and your bra and panties set, too. So pretty and you look super comfy, too!

What a sweet idea! I need to try something like that!
ReplyDeleteI love RAoK! I always try to be mindful of doing something unexpected to brighten someone's day, even if it's as simple as telling the cashier at the store she has beautiful eyes. I don't think we realize how much of a difference one small gesture can make in someone else's life. :)

Love the idea of RAoK week-I try to practice this principal all year around. The middle of February is an especially good time to proclaim a time for being extra kind, since Valentine's Day is February 14th in the US. Many people are already in a more loving and giving state of mind. Your matching lounge set is a lovely step up for at home wear. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the link-up!
ReplyDeleteI love random acts of kindness - but I had no idea that there was a special week for them. Very cool, Jacqui, and way to go! Your new bra set is so pretty, and the lounge suit is awesome.

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of Random Acts of Kindness, but I've yet to try it out lol. I will though, after reading this, I feel inspired! Love the lounge suit, and the Playtex set is lovely, I have the same one, and I actually use the knickers over tights to stop the crotch from falling down LOL!!!

I love the act of kindness. On Vday I gave all the pups at our vineyard a special treat and really enjoyed it, it made my day. Love the pretty set, and that loungewear is very pretty, I would wear that all day at home!
