Hope you're all doing well.
As I said last week the weekend was a quiet affair. Didn't get up to much and even my ballet exam was postponed for a couple of weeks due to a Covid outbreak for teachers and a few pupils. I do admit to being rather pleased to have the extra practice, I think I need it to be honest!
I looked after my grandson on Sunday, just for a couple of hours before going to the local for dinner. Neither me or hubby felt like cooking, so David suggested going out to eat and as you can imagine I jumped at the chance - any reason not to cook works for me ... lol!
I'm always on the lookout for a charming dress and when I saw this in the Dorothy Perkins sale I though why not? As it was a mere £15 I popped it into my online shopping basket and home it came to me!
Once it arrived I didn't really like the look, so it might go back, do let me know what you think my friends.
With slinky fabric topping the fashion stakes at the moment this I was happy to find this dress.
The only trouble is that it's a bias cut which doesn't suit my shape. It also had quite a lot of extra material in the wrong place and I didn't know what to do with it. I tried a belt, that didn't look right so then I tried the hair-band-inside to gather a small piece. You can see this in the photo below & to be fair it actually worked rather well and gave a bit more defined shape to the otherwise straight style. Still not sure though, what do you think?
As I mentioned earlier this was in the sale section. It's still available and may be one for you to try, especially at that reasonable price!
This mono floral has a pretty cut out detail on the neckline, and just below that is where I gathered it in. It's a midaxi style and my look is complimented by some black suede effect ankle shoes. Mine have a sturdy block heel, making it easier to walk in and would be fabulous for a special occasion when walking on grass!! (Anyone else suffer SSS ... sinking stiletto syndrome?)

Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope you have a brilliant week. Back to the gym and seeing friends this week - let's hope the sun keeps shining for that.
Cheerio for now. X
I think the dress looks wonderful with the orange jacket. But, if it takes that much work to wear, is it worth it? One of my friends once told me it isn't a bargain if you aren't going to use it. Can you keep it for a few days and see how you feel then?

What a great trick with the hairband! Lately, I try not to keep something if I am unsure about it as I probably won't wear it much or will get frustrated with it. I does look really good gathered like that and topped with this fun moto jacket.
