How's you week going?
Not much to report from the past few days, been helping with the school run, seeing the grand-kids, going to gym classes and generally just chilling out. Hubby has been rather busy in the garden - you see we have plans for a two new builds on our property - it's a big plot with a really old house on it and loads of grass (hence I'm always cutting it and moaning about who needs lots of grass). So he's been building a hard-standing for all the materials we will need, plus he's tidied up the area I'm calling a patio. We have a lovely set of rattan furniture and it will look super on the new area until the new house is built.
So with no shopping recently I've been shopping my wardrobe and wearing old faithfuls. Do let me know what you think of my look today, you've seen all the pieces before, but maybe not in this way.
There's nothing more feminine than frills on an outfit!
The kids got me the cream jeans a couple of years ago, and I'm still really happy with the M & S skinny's. They fit like a dream and the neutral tone goes with just about anything. Today I popped on this cute fitted jumper. I love the detail over it and fell for the frill on the cuffs and collar - I have a bit of a thing for frills as you may have seen if you follow my blog.
There's nothing more feminine than frills on an outfit!
I picked this one up in Matalan, having seen it a couple of times when shopping and then finding it was reduced I just had to buy it - if I remember rightly it cost about £12! Sadly it's not available now which is a shame because it's such a pretty knit.
But what jacket to wear? I really should have worn a coat when I popped out as typically our weather here is still very changeable - there's talk of snow at the weekend!!! Yes and I've got a sweet little dress to wear for a christening - yikkes I'm going to freeze!!
I reached for my tweed jacket - well the tones through this classic jacket just clicked with the jeans and jumper - as you can see they look a dream together.
Now sunglasses are a different story - I have quite a few pairs and am always yearning for more, so that's a good gift idea me. These are from Ralph Lauren - tortoise shell with gold & have to be one of my favourites!
I wanted to add lots of interesting details into the mix, so picking the black from the jacket I opted for my new satchel bag from Daniella Lehavi. The Alma has a fabulous pattern on the front, plenty of pockets, two handles - one long and two short, & it's a good size to fit lots in.

I like this outfit a lot. The top has a nice feature around the neck, looks great under your lovely tweed jacket. I find helping our children with their kids is very rewarding, helps me to stay connected and being involved in their lives. Have a great weekend

Great look Jacqui. Sounds like you have been busy. I am thinking of going to the gym again. Thanks so much for hosting. I've linked up my walkies with Murphy look as I'm saving my best dresses until Murphy has got out of the chewing my clothes stage :)

Oh it sounds like you have some wonderful plans for your new build, Jacqui! That is so exciting! I hope it all goes smoothly and quickly for you. This outfit is so pretty! I love a tweed jacket paired with denim. And your cream denim is so great for this time of year. We still have snow forecasted over the next 2 weeks as well so I feel like I have been dressing more for fall than spring lately.

I love this jacket with this outfit! The contrast with the jumper is really pretty and yes, I still wear my skinnies even though I now wear more different cuts of pants. Love the variety.

Your plans for the garden and new house sound exciting! Big fan of M&S skinnies. Hope it's not too chilly for your christening - you'll need a vest and cardi! x
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've been busy! That jacket is so chic and classic! Also love the delicate jewelry you paired with it.

Hi Jacqui! Love the tweed jacket and the color of your blouse really pops against it. The bag is wonderful too. I have been doing either secondhand shopping or shopping my closet as of late.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!

Oh, I miss making those school runs for my grands. They're in a huge carpool now so I don't do it unless there's something special going on. Needless to say...I rarely look this put together as it's usually right after a workout or working in the yard! I do envy you having a large yard. We downsized our yard about 7 years ago and I so miss mowing! Thanks so much for the link up!!
