How are you?
Another busy Saturday for me, I went to London to watch my youngest son James compete in The Barge Race on the River Thames. It's an age old tradition, and you can read more about it here!
It was an early start departing for the train at 7.30am. I took a picnic lunch, snacks and drinks as we were on the boat all day - with no loo we had to stop off at various points for comfort breaks and getting on and off the boat was ... err shall I say interesting! You can see my wobbly boarding of the boat over on Instagram. 😅
I obviously had to wear something suitable for a day on the boat, as well as getting on and off, it's a work boat so not really suitable for dressy outfits. I wore jeans. I do admit that wearing white jeans wasn't really my best decision. Well you do the math's ...work boat and white jeans, yeah I got them dirty!!!
To be fair I think I looked the part, and that's all that matters really eh?
You can see what I paired white jeans with. This pretty Zara blouse is just a glorious blue for sunny days. It was cool and gave a nice relaxed feel. I did the typical bloggers tuck and just slipped the front of my blouse into the jeans. I took a little cami t shirt with me, but didn't need it. When the sun went in I popped on my shacket which was a perfect layer.

Had to have the obligatory 'at the helm' shot - I didn't dare touch anything though!
Hubby enjoyed the day too. It was nice to do something different for a change, we had a lovely carefree afternoon.
The famous 02 in the background. I found out that the storm damage has been repaired and the venue is now back to normal service.
I also spotted the people walking across the top of it. Something I've always wanted to do. On a clear day you can see up to 15 miles away & with climbing at night you get to view 360o of twinkling london lights. Have you ever done anything as exhilarating as this?
There's a Thames Clipper too. This is one of the vessels my son pilots - for those that don't know Thames Clippers run a commuter service on The Thames, it's a fascinating way to commute into London and a great way to see the sights.
Cheers to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

Bye for now. X
Now, that sounds like a perfect day! I've only been on the Thames once...on one of those dastardly tour boats where you hear only wa-wa-wa-wa-! London really is such a fabulous place. I hope we get back there someday before the mister decides he's too old for those trans-Atlantic flights!

DeleteLooks like such a fun day out! I really like that printed blouse with the white jeans even if they weren't the most practical colour, they look lovely on you!

Away From The Blue
The blue and white Zara blouse is perfect with the white jeans and sneakers. Looks like you kept those white jeans fairly clean, even on a work boat.
