Hi there my friends, hope you are well.
How's your week been?
Since Monday's post I've been doing a little bit of DIY. For the first time ever I've put wallpaper on the wall!! I'm so proud of my achievement and you'd have thought I'd painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel .. lol Let me tell you a little of the back story, you see David and I are planning to build two new houses on our property - so we haven't done much to our house and most certainly many of the rooms need serious attention. You'll have seen my new dressing room that we created back in January, but I only did a little bit of painting then. This week I've been putting wallpaper up! (Is there a proud moji?) I was watching some TikTok's showing how to make-over a cloakroom and was introduced to self adhesive wallpaper! Have you heard of it? Well as you can guess you peel off the back and stick on the wall. It was a bit fiddly in places, but I eventually got to grips with it and managed to paper the whole of the room. It was only halfway down as the rest will be painted, but so far so good. Will share some photos when it's all done.
For my birthday the other day I had a gorgeous wrap dress given to me from the children, they tend to put their money together and buy one or two big presents - I got this pretty wrap dress, the lilac mules, a statement summer hat and some chocolates. I'm happy to say the dress is a perfect fit and just what I would buy myself.
I love a wrap dress and if it's a faux version then all the better. This one from Per Una - Marks & Spencer is just a perfect example of a stylish and flattering fit and as everything is fixed in place there's no worry of gaping or flashing going on.
The fact is I'm thrilled with the overall fit of this classic beauty and the ditsy pattern suits so many of my bags and shoes it's going to get plenty of mileage.
Today I picked two of the shades within the print ... lilac mules with striking heels and my favourite piece of arm candy ... my bright pink lola bag.
Let's take a closer look.
As I mentioned above the fit is perfect. I'm wearing a size 12 and it fits so well it's like it was made for me. The sassy frill compliments the puffy sleeves that finish just above the elbow. It has a hidden zip on the side with a fancy tie detail completing the look on the side too.
I'm loving the mule trend that's going around this season, I have a few pairs and want even more in my collection, so when I opened the box and found this pair from the children I was chuffed. They have a nice chunky heel making them great for walking in, they're definitely going into my suitcase for my trip abroad next month. 😉
My stunning Teddy Blake bag came out to play and sure did play an important role - doesn't it fit in brilliantly? I'm all over this pastel pick and can't wait to wear it again and again. Well done kids you chose well. X

What a beautiful dress and I loved how you styled it with the lilac shoes and pink purse! I'm impressed that your family gifted you items that are so well suited to your taste. Hurray for your new wallpaper. I always celebrate when I accomplish even the most significant DIY project of that type because I am just NOT experienced with it at all, so I get the "Sistine Chapel" feeling :)
ReplyDeleteJacqui love that outfit on you and well done on the wallpapering. Sounds like exciting times ahead.
ReplyDeleteYour kids really know your taste and style! Such a beautiful dress on you, love the faux wraps too. I look forward to seeing your wallpaper job, I hate painted so this may be an alternative. I would like to do the wall behind our bed- accent.
