Father's Day Ideas with Cotton Traders - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello there,
How are you today?

We've had super weather here over the past few days, and it certainly feels like Summer might have arrived.  I have my holiday with the kids in just over a week's time, so I've been gradually getting my case sorted.  I don't need many new pieces as I often have a 'special' wardrobe for holiday wear ... I was chatting to my beauty therapist the other week and she was telling me she has clothes and jewellery just for her holidays too!  I tend to wear bits that I maybe wouldn't wear at home, this often feels like I have a whole new wardrobe for my trip ... do tell me we are not the only ones who do this!!!

On Sunday it's Father's Day here in the UK, and as I've been kindly gifted these pieces by Cotton Traders I wanted to share a couple of ideas with you so you can surprise your dad on his special day!  Some Father's are very tricky to buy for as they either don't NEED anything, (unlike us girls) or they buy things themselves.  Well these post might just give you a few possibilities!

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

So what will you get your dad?
I have some lovely ideas that might help you,
First up what about a hoodie? This pale blue hoodie* would make an ideal choice. This shade of blue will suit everyone, and as it's such a lightweight fabric & can accompany your dad anywhere. At £22 this washed blue jumper made from recycled microfleece has all the benefits of long lasting anit-pill design, a half zip with covered ends to protect the face, raglan sleeves and has a super soft feel and I just need to add it's available in shades of light sage and navy.

A dressing gown* is always a winner, just like slippers.  I love this masculine checkered pattern.  In tones of blue, this is the idea choice for any dad.  It's lightweight fabric means it's perfect for the Summer months and will be ideal over PJ's (if they wear them) in Winter. The other option to this Orchid colour-way is pebble which is a grey stripe.  Offering an irresistibly soft and pure fabric, a neck hanging loop for easy storage, front patch pockets and a fabric tie matching belt to fasten where it's needed - so with an incredible price of £34 here's another perfect present.

I've got the feels for this wonderful print.  It's a polo shirt*with the fabulous Guinness trade Mark emblem on the side tab and on the buttons, and top marks to Cotton Traders for the all-over toucan design in a contrasting shade of turquoise, it looks so good on the navy short sleeved polo shirt.
Sizes start at Medium and go right up to a 5XL - impressive eh?  Price point at £28 makes this an interesting and affordable gift.

What about socks?  They always go down well.  With a comfort top these socks with a goose emblem* on the side are a classic go-to.  I like the mix-up of these, all the colours that are cool for work and play.  What's not to love about a price tag of £12 too!

Finally, this has to be my favourite and is at the top of my list, how about a linen blend shirt*?  Priced at £32, this short sleeved shirt is getting all the brownie points and I'm sure your dad will love it.  This cooling linen-blend comes in three choices and I'm smitten with this clay version.  If you like this you're sure to love the sea blue and deep green options - they'll all go well with jeans or shorts (Cotton Traders have many styles on their website too.) Sizes offered in this classic shirt are medium to 3XL.  You know I love pockets, and I'm sure most men do too, this one has a patch pocket on the chest.

Here's a list of other possible gift ideas:

  • A meal out will always go down well, and if it involves a pub then all the better.
  • Maybe a trip to watch a match, something like cricket, football or rugby can be a good bet.
  • A fishing trip.
  • A visit to an antique fair.
  • Golf day out, you could meet at the 19th hole!
  • A day at the races with a free bet for him.
  • A BBQ.
  • Maybe a concert or show, or even a festival!
I do hope I've given you some ideas of what to get, but don't forget your time is possibly the most important thing you can give someone!

Some Father's are very tricky to buy for as they either don't NEED anything, (unlike us girls) or they buy it themselves.

  7. What nice ideas for Father's Day! I hope you enjoy your upcoming trip too! I try to take favourite pieces I wear at home on trips as then they get good happy memories attached to them - but often I find I pack too much and never wear the pieces I intend to all that much, haha!

Thanks for the link up! Hope you are having a good week :)

  10. Your husband is looking quite stylish and handsome! My hubby sure could use some new clothes but he hangs on to stuff that is 20 and more years old. Thankfully he has a couple nice linen shirts.

  13. This is an attractive line-up of gifts for dads. The clothing items look like things that real men/dads would actually enjoy wearing. Comfort and durability are prime considerations for men's clothing.
    Thanks for hosting the link-up.
