Hope you are all good and enjoying August.
Not much to report this week. David has been hard at work on our footings, and with concrete having been poured last week he is now clearing the site ready for brickwork. I've not been able to help much - just running any errands and making tea! Well someone has to do it!
I've been to my gym classes and am really starting to notice a difference in my body. I've even been brave enough to wear shorts today, something I would never have considered in the past - seems my cycle class is paying off!
I'm out on Saturday, you may recall it was Sophie's birthday last month - so she's decided to go for a girly brunch in London. I'm chuffed that she wanted me to go too, so we've been getting excited about the event all week. There's been plenty of discussions about what we are wearing, and obviously I've bought a new dress to wear, but it's not come yet so I've got a couple of 'stand by's' just in case. The main problem I find when getting an outfit together is what shoes to wear? I hate to suffer with sore feet, so the big decision will be made on Saturday morning - wish me luck! I'll have plasters, gel lines and inner soles on hand too!
Any gaps would put me off wearing it!
See how brave I've been to wear shorts on the blog my friends.
Let's take a quick look at my outfit today.
After getting back from the gym, I showered, washed and styled my hair. I pulled out these shorts as they are quite easy to wear and just as easy to style. My daughter likes these little crop tops, so i bought some too. They are from Primark for the seriously stupid price of £3 each - they are double layered making them just the right thing to wear when the weather is hot like it's been here.
Fortunately the shorts are high waist so the crop top fits perfectly on the waistband. Any gaps would put me off wearing it!
The belt was a Christmas present and this Ralph Lauren snakeskin design (which is reversible) was rather costly but 100% well worth it. I've already got a white one in mind for next Christmas. 😉
Now what about this flamboyant kimono? I've had this for many years, but have to admit to not wearing it very often. To be honest the fringing always gets caught so I worry that it will pull or tear the fine chiffon fabric or pull out the fringe. Fortunately that didn't happen today. But just look at the striking colours, don't they look bold and beautiful in the sunshine.
I've worn it in the past over a block all-white jean combo, and it looked amazing. It's one of those pieces that come out to shine every once in a while and get's lots of love when it does. x
I'm chuffed at how well everything looks together, finishing touches were my blue strappy sandals and matching clutch bag.
You'll be surprised to hear the sandals are quite comfy. I think the fact my foot is held in place makes them so easy to wear. The heel is a good height and the colour is bright and cheery and screams "look at me". I've got loads of lovely comments about this style, so am really pleased I decided to have the photos taken, do let me know what you think of it my friends.
