How's your week been?
I've had a lovely weekend with the family and was very lucky to go to London with my daughters', and their friend for Brunch. It's actually called a 'bottomless brunch', but was in the evening! Yeah work that one out!
We've had the day planned for a few weeks. It's been nice getting everything sorted and picking outfits to wear. We've had various fashion shows sharing what we 'might' wear .. ha ha ha!
Don't you think all the preparations are nearly as good as actually going? Last week though, we very nearly had all our plans scuppered! We found out there was going to be a dreaded train strike on the very day we were going. Panic and frustration set in to think we wouldn't be able to go, but as always the family rallied round and gave us a lift to and from London ... phew, thankfully we could go to the party!
What do you think of my outfit? I've taken to wearing green a lot more recently and have a striking and elegant new blouse to wear when the weather gets a bit cooler, and this has to be my favourite colour of the season ... behind pink that is! Lol.
If you take a look through my various wardrobes you'd definitely think I would have had plenty to wear for an occasion in London, but I still managed to buy a new dress for it. Well everyone else was wearing something new so I had to do the same didn't I?
Picked this from BooHoo's website, it has a fabulous bold paisley print which is predominantly a striking shade of green. The pattern is made up of a whole host of pretty colours including pink, blue and a very subtle pale yellow.
I love the sleeve detail, it's kind of caught up which creates great volume and finishes on the elbow.
The cross-over bust detail is fitted which then blossoms out making the skirt a feminine A line. It has a matching tie belt that I tied in a bow on the side.
I decided on my green tie up shoes, but after doing a bit of walking I soon realised they weren't the best option and hurt my feet. I didn't realise until I changed them for flats after the brunch that they'd given me two huge blisters under the balls of my feet! Fuming with my choice, but elated with how well they went with the dress and how good they looked!
I love this Teddy Blake bag and just had to include this with my outfit, firstly it looked good and secondly it fitted my flats in it.
Since starting my blog way back in 2016 I've become much more adventurous with my colour mixes and will happily add more tones to add interest and excitement to a look. I enjoy seeing different combinations and get loads of inspiration from bloggers and Instagramers alike. So it was easy for me to combine my pink bag with my stunning green shoes - such a shame they are so uncomfortable eh!
My girls ready to party at Skinny Kitchen.
We had two hours of bottomless cocktails or prosecco, with a two course meal, music with a singer and dancers. We also enjoyed the amazing Saxophonist's accompanying the upbeat 80's tunes, right up my street really! Have a peek at my 'mum' dancing on IG - it'll make you laugh my friends!
Before arriving and once we left we enjoyed cocktails in a couple of bars, although the pub near Skinny Kitchen, which was also near Highbury football pitch, could only serve our cocktails in plastic cups ha ha!!! Very classy!

Many thanks for joining me today. Hope you like our outfits. Nice to dress up every so often isn't it.
Catch you again on Thursday for the #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Cheerio for now.
Well, of course you had to buy a new dress! And, this one is perfect! Paisley is one of my favorite prints of all time! What a shame the shoes didn't work out, but at least you'd packed your flats so all was not lost!
