Welcome to my Over Fifty blog.
Finally the weather seems to have cooled down a bit. I know I hate myself saying it, but I've really struggled in the heat. I want to get into my new season clothes and work out what I need new and chill. I went through a couple of wardrobes last week and have a big pile of stuff that I've been gradually adding to my Vinted site. It's surprising the space it's released, but I'll have to stay strong so's not to fill them up again!
One thing I did 'splash' out on was these caramel trousers.
I'm so impressed with these elasticated waist comfy's, I'm putting my neck on the line to say they'll be THE trousers of the season! I've wanted a pair like this for a while, knowing they'll be comfortable and still look stylish. I saw a couple of pairs in M & S but wasn't overly impressed with the drawstring tie. I popped into my local Primark and found these for the stunning price of £15! I'm not sure if they have other colours, but rest assured when and if I do find out, I'll be getting them.
Are you a wide leg trouser lover? Personally they are my favourite style, and I feel they suit my figure as well.
I have quite a few pairs and often turn to them for a stylish and glamorous look. I went shopping last week, and was happy to find these in Primark along with another pair that had a drawstring around the waist. I grabbed these in my size, always sizing up in there as they generally come up small, and took a chance. I was so pleased when I got them home, so much so that I wore them out that night.
I paired them with my cute cami top which also came from Primark. Both are brilliant value and look flipping super on!
So you're asking what's so special about them?
Well firstly they are very flattering for nearly all body shapes. I'm a pear shape and they work wonders on my figure. They balance out my heavy legs perfectly. They have a very agreeable elastic waistband that is not only easy to pull on but feels heavenly on. The length is great for me, and I popped on my flats to lounge around in but I know trainers will look sassy as well. Finally .... They have pockets ... I love to have pockets.
They just feel so slouchy on, I love a nice casual vibe and the look is on trend as well!
Wearing shirts like this give an extra versatility for Autumn, kind of a two-for-one deal - hooray for that eh!
The cami top has been my go to top of the season. Nice and easy to wear, and looks good with so much. You can see how I wore my white one with denim short and kimono here. They're also going to be super under jumpers and shirts in the winter when layers, layers, layers will be my 'go to' style for the Winter!
The colour scheme begged for my giant dog-tooth hessian bag, I picked it up in H & M a few months back and have been amazed by the amount of people who loved and wanted it. Many had missed out on it in H & M when it was available - I was shocked to find one on Ebay for the whopping price of £45, I only paid £25 for mine!!!!
I chose to add my gold patterned necklace and big bold bangle that's black. I've had this years. I have very wide knuckles and never find bangles that I can get on. A few years ago I found this one in Evans, and was impressed that it fitted me, I wear it every so often and love the statement it gives off.
Do you suffer with needing larger bangles and how do you deal with it?

Jacqui, this is a great look for this time of year. You've done a fabulous job of styling your wide-leg pants. I personally adore this style as attested by the fact I'm wearing it in both of the posts I added to the link-up.
