Black and Cream Maxi Dress from Izabel.

Morning my friends.
Hope you are well.
I'm been doing a lot of day dreaming over the weekend, wishing I was back in Sicily with David.  We all need that time to re-connect with our partners don't we!

I'm not sure when we'll have time away on our own, but we do have a long weekend on the horizon to Germany to visit the Christmas Market with friends.  I can't wait as I've never been to Germany & I’m  excited to see what it's like there.

I went dancing on Friday as usual, we continued to learn the Cha Cha Cha, and I think I've got this one under my belt.  I just need an occasion to practice it, oh and a partner .. ha ha ha!

Sunday wasn't the normal family roast day. David and I went with friends to have lunch and watch a band at a local venue.  It was very much a fun afternoon with lots of drinks and a bit of dancing.  The band was called Bamboozle and certainly were very lively.  I actually got up and danced along with my two friends, the boys abstained - they preferred to carry on drinking!! Lol.
So today I thought I'd share what I wore on Sunday afternoon.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

I nearly always wear a dress when I'm going out to a special event. To be honest I love to wear a dress other times too - they are so easy to wear and style.
So yesterday I decided (without much persuasion) to wear this maxi dress* from Izabel Clothing.
I love a monochrome look and this dress is a perfect example of what I feel and look comfortable in.
It's a shirt dress, which has been an all time favourite style and one you'll find me favouring quite often.

The black background is covered with cream florals.  They are big and bold and make quite a statement.
It's a notice me style and one I feel really comfy in.  I could have picked an array of other bright accessories, but felt right at home wearing black shoes and a cream pochette bag.  I’d happily wear it for a day out into town to have a meal as well as donning for an afternoon of fun like I had yesterday.  Wearing trainers or boots would look just as good too.

It's got a matching belt, that I tied to the side in a double knot, but I do quite like the idea of wearing a plain black belt with it, maybe I could try the orange belt I got for my birthday one day!
It has buttons up the front and a large collar that I left open.  It could also be done up to the neck, but I feel that's a bit too formal for me.  Do you wear shirt dresses done up to the neck? Maybe a big shiny necklace would compliment that look. X

I found these gorgeous sling back's in New Look.  I was on the prowl for some espadrilles and found these lurking on the sale shelf too!  They are vegan leather and really comfortable, so much so I wore them the other week to The Shard with my sister!   They have a fabulous pointed toe and stiletto heel, but are so soft.  I wan't expecting them to be quite so sumptuous to wear and was pleasantly surprised with my £15 bargain!!

You may be familiar with Izabel clothing and can see my previous picks for two weddings this year, this cerise pink pleated dress is stunning and this maxi looked amazing with my pink bag as well as this stunner I wore to the third wedding of the year. X

Thank you so much for joining me today, I really appreciate you joining me today.
Have a super fun week, catch you on Thursday for the #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Bye for now. X

  1. Gosh, Jacqui! I always think you are gorgeous in colors, but you are stunning in this black/cream combo! Absolutely perfect! I don't wear shirtdresses done up to the top. I haven't ever tried, but now, I'm curious!
