So pleased you could make it!
Have you had a good week? Mine has been very busy as usual and it was nice to have a more settled weekend.
On Friday I went dancing where I learnt the cha-cha-cha. It was a great routine and I remembered the steps from my previous lesson a few months ago. Class members get the pick two dances and then vote on what we'd like to learn, this makes it quite fair as everyone can chose their favourite. I've moved up into the 'improvers' class which means we learn the dances at a fast pace and fortunately I can keep up .. most of the time!
Saturday was glorious, I should have been in the garden cutting the grass, but ended up doing a few chores and getting the little things I'd left done. Things like sewing a couple of bits for my son and getting rid of some clutter in my dressing room. I went to my daughters for dinner & we had something called tartiflette. Made from sliced potatoes, Reblochon cheese, onions and lardons all baked to make a really tasty meal. It's a traditional dish from the Savoy area in the Alps and always reminds me of skiing as it's a meal we always have when we are there. It's served with cold cuts of meat, cornichons and pickles. Yes it was as nice as it sounds.

It's taken me a while to style this shirt from Salamander but now I've done it I can't wait to wear it again! The weather is so much more accommodating now so long sleeve shirts take center stage.
Paired with cream jeans and tan boots don't they make the shirt sing. You can really see the floral pattern stand out against the plain trousers and jacket. It's also a perfect fit, so do pick your usual size from the huge selection on the Salamander website because you won't be disappointed.
My Grenouille shirt is a soft dusky pink which has the elegant Victorian Rose* pattern over it, but the best bit is the complimentary polka dot print fabric that runs down the interior button section and inside the collar. It's a fabulous fancy finish that makes the whole thing stand out!
Tan boots keep the look 'season appropriate' and these from Lotus shoes will stand me in good stead for the cold and wet weather that's always on the horizon in the UK. We've been lucky with the weather so far, with only the odd day being really cold. No doubt it won't be long until boots and coats are the order of the day though!
The Jamila ankle boot* is faux leather which is a helpful addition for those who don't like wearing leather. I think the double buckle detail is super stylish as is the trendy sparkle which covers the back of the boot - I do love a bit of bling - so these boots are very much a 'me' style.
I kept the tan theme running with my matching belt and I also wore a caramel blazer that matched perfectly. I found this one in New Look a while ago, but blazers are always around and are great to pop on at this time of the year. I'm always on the look-out for new shades, and with bright colours being popular I fancy a bright red version!
I could have picked any number of bags, but settled on this pink beauty from Teddy Blake and you've seen it before many times. It's just such a classic design and fits so much in, very much a winner for me, but is it a style you like?
It's 100% cotton, so as you can imagine feels super on, and as it's a relaxed fit it isn't tight at all. I think you'll agree it looks great on too. X
Good to have you here, many thanks my friends.
