Salamander Shirt with Hotter Shoes - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning, good to have you here.
Sorry there wasn’t a post on Monday, various reasons and I didn’t want to beat myself up about it, you understand I’m sure. X
Hope you're going to join the #linkup below.

You've joined a very unhappy Mummab today.  You see I've managed to get photos taken yesterday, and stupidly deleted some of them as I was transferring them to my computer!!  I'm so annoyed with myself as I'm usually so careful.  My daughter has offered to take them again, but it's such a faff isn't it!
In future I'll be doubly careful with what I do so that it doesn't happen again!

I've had a normal week so far, gym has been good and although my I've been unable to get into my usual cycle class I went into body attack instead.  I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up but was pleasantly surprised at how well I did, I've come away feel quite chilled with 'nicely' aching muscles, I'm sure I won't be able to walk in the morning, but that'll be tomorrow's worry ... lol!  That's the trouble with going to the gym in Jan and Feb, everyone is on a fitness spurt aren't they.  All the classes get booked up and the loyal gym go'ers can't get booked in, do you know I have to book a week and a day in advance to get into cycle classes, that means waking at 6.00 am on a Sunday and Tuesday to book for a Monday and Wednesday the following week!  If I'm late there's no chance of booking in!  I really need to look into going to another gym, but I like the instructor so I'm staying put for now, oh and just keep moaning about it!! ha ha!! 😝

So today I wanted to share two new items with you.  I've been a big fan of Salamander Shirts* for a while now and was delighted to receive a couple of new designs from them recently, so what do you think of this pretty floral shirt?  It's been teamed with my 'go to' trouser of the season ... my jeans.  However I wanted to give a bit of a Spring vibe so opted for these cute court shoes from Hotter* in the subtle nude shade.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

Thanks for being so supportive, I love to hear from you in my comments section, do let me know how you are doing this week.  Have you done anything silly like I have?

Anyway I shan't dwell on the negatives, let's take a look at my outfit of the day.
I wanted to wear something a bit more Spring like, so even though the weather was chilly I took advantage of the bright day and with the help of my youngest daughter took these super photos.

I started off with my new shirt.  Grenouille have a big selection of ladies and men's shirts, all in more traditional styles that look sharp and neat on.  I was drawn to this Anemone print* as it reminded me of my Nan, these were her favourite flowers. They are so beautiful and the striking colours really do stand out.  The deeper blue piping and buttons compliment the shirt, as do the golden yellow flowers.  I felt it called for lighter washed jeans, but fancy it might look decent with my yellow trousers too.

“I was drawn to this Anemone print as it reminded me of my nan, these were her favourite flowers.”

It's such a comfortable shirt to wear, and would look great with a vest over it or maybe a corresponding coloured cardigan.  It's been reduced with £5 off making the price point of £45 very attractive, almost as attractive as the shirt itself!

My jeans are from River Island, they offer some good standard jeans and I have a few pairs in various styles and shades, they are good quality and have a nice rigid feel to them.  I picked most of them up in the sale, they have really good prices then so always worth looking at.

Did you see my shoes?  I love a court style, sometimes called a pump.  These are a super comfy kitten heel which is the perfect height for every day wearing.  The colour will go with so much making them a versatile little shoe.  The faux leather shoe, called Camden,* is now reduced in the sale for an encouraging price of £29, so with the choice of two other shades, there's one that'll be appealing for you all.

“These are a super comfy kitten heel which is the perfect height for every day wearing.”

I had to wear a coat as the weather was so cold, so this off white crombie style worked a treat.  It lifts the look for a dull day and really did brighten my mood, despite my silly photo error.
Lesson learnt, don't delete anything until you're absolutely, definitely, 110% sure.

  1. Perhaps that it gets better in February at the gym. I was of to the gym this morning but it was way to slippery. So going to work out at home. Your shoes are fabulous, I love a kitten heel

  6. First off I adore that blouse! So pretty. And I love the way you’ve styled. The outfit does remind of me of Spring.

Please don’t beat yourself over the photo loss. We’ve all done something comparable. You are such a consistent and talented blogger, that the loss of a few photos is just a hiccup in your long, successful track record.

  7. You look fabulous, Jacqui! That anemone print is gorgeous, very retro (!) I think. I agree it would look fab with yellow too. I've also done silly things like wipe out my photos too. It's the most irritating thing when it happens, isn't it?

  9. The blue piping is a really nice touch for that lovely floral print shirt, and I like how you styled it. I have a system for taking paper bead photos that works well...until I decided to download some of the photos but not all to my computer one time, and now that I've downloaded all of them, they're all a jumble of confusion. It feels like downloading the photos should be the easy part, but I think we all screw up sometimes!

  10. Than k you for featuring me and my post! You made my day. Your pumps are such a great find. They are perfect with this outfit and will look great with all kind of spring and summer office looks. The height seems great to walking in a block or two too.

  12. I have done that before...deleted photos...if you have an iPhone, they are temporarily stored in a file called recently deleted, but I forget where that is. Google can tell you! I absolutely adore this top...it's floral so I'm going to love it! And, you've styled it so wonderfully! Thanks for the link party! I do hope you'll visit on Friday for one!

  13. This outfit is SO cute! I saw your IG post about this but I've totally done this before too!! One, time I deleted a whole YEARS worth of files, including photos my husband took for himself (he would have been devastated had they been gone forever). Luckily, I had bought a drive for the computer earlier in the week and backed it up. It took a whole day just to figure everything out so I get it. Regardless, you look fab!

  16. Yes I too have deleted photos. Also lost the camera card. Graham calls me 'Wonder Woman' Wonder where I put ...... The shirt is very pretty. x

  17. We've all accidentally deleted photos - it's so annoying! The shirt is beautiful, such a pretty print. I remember when I used to go to Virgin gym in Nottingham, it was the same every January - incredibly busy and all the classes full. Now I have a treadmill, weights and various other pieces of equipment at home so I don't have to worry about that! I do miss some of the weights machines though.
