Hope you've had a nice week and better weekend.
Don't the weeks just fly by now?
I'm on the run down for my holiday to The French Alps. I'm off for a weeks skiing on Saturday, I'm going to Les Arcs and literally can't wait. Let's hope my knees don't play me up. I've been at the gym trying to strengthen them so I'm sure anything I've done will help. I'm going to get everything sorted early this week so there's no rush on Friday, I don't need anything new as I've got plenty already. I'll run my salopettes and jacket through the wash and add a sachet of protector into it, I don't want to get wet whilst I'm on the slopes! Are you a fan of skiing? I simply love going and am usually last in, I wonder if that will still be the same this year!
So today it's the last Monday of the month, and the first of the year which can only mean a new installment from the ladies from the Style Not Age collective. If you've never heard of us before, myself and four friends come together and share our interpretation from a prompt set by one of us, this month Hilda - Over The Hilda set the task. It's perfect for the new month, do let us know what you think of our looks based on our title ....
January Blues.
January is often surrounded by the taunts of getting the January Blues, there's not much to get excited about is there? Cold wet weather, dreary days & with the Christmas decorations removed and put away everything always looks so bare at this time of the year doesn't it! There's no mad present buying to do & it's time to get back to normal, back to the gym and start planning new ventures for the following months. I find myself looking forward to my skiing holiday at every spare moment, but that will come and go way to quickly for my liking. Be great to have a trip once a month. If the bank balance could handle it I'm not sure the body could lol!
I based this month's outfit around my stunning jacquard jacket which you've seen before. I mentioned it was a versatile little number, I mean look how good it looks over my jeans? Just as good as with my wide leg trousers. It's going to get plenty of wear once the good weather arrives, I can't wait for jacket season can you?
As you may well be aware jeans are my favourite pick for Winter months. They are both warm and easy to style. They look great with jumpers and trainers as well as shirts and heels.
I found this pair in H & M the other week and 'as you do' tried them on in the store, they slipped on perfectly and fitted like a glove, so I had to buy them, especially as I had a 'friends and family' discount voucher for 25% off! They aren't a skinny jean but just a straight leg with a high waist, both make them a comfortable style to wear. I will wear them turned up when the weather improves, but until then I think they work well with my boots
The lacy top was saved from the Vinted pile. It's been around for a while and you might have seen it on the blog before, the only trouble is it's got a stain on the shoulder that just won't come out. So it might be put into the bin instead - such a shame because it's a lovely little top. See it here with patterned trousers. X
Let's see what my four friends thought about the prompt.
First up it's Gail’s turn. Gail has shopped her wardrobe much like me. Her blue is lifted by a nice sunny yellow and certainly made me think of sunny days by the beach, oh I can't wait for that to happen! See more from Gail on her blog Is This Mutton?
Next shall we see what Anna - Anna's Island Style has chosen. Anna found some bargains in a charity shop in Penzance, the jacket works a treat with her other pieces that are shopped from her wardrobe.
Emma looks all snuggly in the perfect coat for January weather but it certainly won't make her blue! Check out the whole outfit on her blog Style Splash.
Finally Hilda - Over The Hilda has gone for this super outfit based around a glamorous blue dress, but what's making this outfit sing is the addition of tan into the mix. I'm all over this combo!
Thanks so much for joining us today, do me know if you have any ideas for our monthly challenge, I'd love to hear from you.
See you on Thursday for the #linkup and hope you have a great week.
Cheerio for now. X
All of the ladies in this group look amazing in their different shades of blue! I love blue and find it so easy to wear with other colors! I do hope you have a fabulous time skiing. I've never been as we don't have mountains near us! We did take the kiddos skiing years ago, but it was so cold! And, having never gone skiing, we didn't dress right! Oh, well!

All so different aren't we Marsha! Oh that would have been hard work in the cold! We wrap up warm and most often I look a pretty picture ... not! Thanks for stopping by. x
DeleteThat bag is to die for! Lovely blues Jacqui. My turn is next month, it was Hilda's challenge this time x
ReplyDeleteIt's great isn't it Gail, David picked well didn't he! x
DeleteI love the shape of those jeans, Jacqui. They're really flattering and they can be worn with so many things. I live in my jeans almost all year round! I have so many pairs but I'm always on the look out for that perfect one lol!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs
Suzy xx
Yes they are good, but I'm not sure what cut they are! Jeans really are my go to and I have loads too! x
DeleteLove how we all look so different in our blues. Thank goodness January is over and hopefully Spring is on the way. x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous jacket! I love how you've combined the different shades of blue and finished the outfit off with those fab cream boots!

I think we're all glad to get January out of the way, aren't we? I love your jacket - it's very funky. As I write, I realise that you're off skiing, lucky you xxx
ReplyDeleteI really like all of the different shades of blue together! It's my favourite colour so I often wear a lot of different shades of blue at once too :)
ReplyDeleteHope you manage to rescue that top and get the stains out, it's very pretty!
Thank you for joining the Weekday Wear Link up!
