How are you?
Bit of a different weekend for me, you see I'm looking after four of my grand-kids over the next few days whilst their mum and dad go off for a long weekend. The children are all used to being with me, but not for this length of time, I'm sure they'll be alright, but bear with me if I'm not back in the room on Monday for the Style Not Age challenge! Lol! My other children will be around to help and even though I've bought up five children, I'm years older now and I'm sure it won't be the same. Do wish me luck my friends. X
A few weeks ago I was gifted a stunning pair of boots from Hotter Shoes* and have only just managed to wear and style them. They're a soft and easy to wear suede boot that's a delicious shade of chocolate brown and feel a dream to wear. Do stay tuned for a run down of these beauties. X
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
I nearly always buy black boots and have never owned a brown pair, so when Hotter shoes asked if I'd like to pick something from their range I popped these in my basket as soon as I saw them. I normally wear a 6.5, but as they don't do half sizes opted for a 6. These were a little too snug for me, so without any fuss Hotter changed them for a 7 - these fitted me beautifully and are very comfortable too.
They are pull on style with a side zip from the bottom to just over the ankle. Once they are on and done up they fit like a dream. The sturdy block heel makes them really solid to wear and as soon as they were on I felt right at home in them. The round toe is a bonus too, nothing worse than squished toes and there was no sign of that with these. I'm saving them to wear when there's no rain forecast, but I'm sure some protective spray will have them covered!
Today I've worn them under a faux leather skirt that arrived from Vinted the other week (I've found some real bargains on there recently). I bought it as cream, but once it had arrived I feel it's more like an off white oyster shade. Didn't matter as I have plenty to pair with it, and as it was brand new with tags for only £4 plus postage I felt I had a bargain even if it only gets worn once. Don't forget I've another one to share with you in the next couple of weeks, it's a full circle style and looks so pretty and feminine on.
I fancied a patterned style on top of the two bold shades so picked this animal print chiffon blouse that has been sitting waiting patiently in my wardrobe for a few months. As soon as I put it on I was annoyed that I'd left it so long. It's a sheer delicate fabric and feels so soft and elegant to touch. I wore a little camisole top under it for a bit of extra warmth. I searched for a jacket to wear, I needed something that fitted to the waist. After a rifle through my coat cupboard I found this old aviator style suede jacket that was the perfect colour match to my boots.
The dark brown suede jacket has big furry cuffs and a nice warm chunky collar. This, like most of my other pieces is a style that doesn't date, hence being left in the wardrobe year in year out. I'm sure you'll see them all again in the future.
