How I acquired this H & M dress - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning all.
How are you?

It’s David’s birthday today, so will have a little celebration with the family later. Maybe a takeaway (if I have my way) which will be nice and easy. He’ll have to take a night off from working on the new build, which I’m sure he won’t like! 😕

Anyway, the week of birthdays has gone well so far, my eldest daughter’s on Sunday (she’s the one I borrowed this dress from), my daughter-in-law’s was Tuesday and they went away on a little holiday so haven't seen her and one on Friday which will be my SIL’s, so a very busy and expensive week for Mummab! Only a couple of weeks and there’s another spate - one very important birthday is included in that lot … mine!  Do you have runs of birthdays at the same time?

So let’s talk dresses, I’ve got lots hanging on my clothes rail, too many for my dressing room and lots of them I don’t wear anymore so top of my list is to go through them and sorting them out! It’s a mammoth job I keep putting off, but plan to maybe next week. 🤷🏻‍♀️
But this one which I acquired from my middle daughter is definitely staying. I spotted this chic design on an Instagram’er I follow and tried to find it last year. It’s from H & M and was out of stock when I checked, I set about tracking it down on Vinted and Ebay, and even resorted to Facedbook Marketplace! Alas I didn’t find it. It’s a Richard Allen design and H&M often has a sets of clothing in one design that’s always very eye catching. Anyway fast forward to last week, my daughter was putting some clothes on Vinted and low and behold this was one of them, she’d had it all the time and I was elated, just one problem - would I get it one! As you can see the answer was yes and doesn’t it look great on!

H & M don’t usually come up big, but this fitted me like a dream, even the cuff which I sometimes struggle with, did up with ease from my wrist.

The length is spot on for me too, just mid way between knee and ankle so I was good to go in these long boots, but come the warmer temps I’ve a ton of shoes to pair with it. Not sure if I’d try trainers, but maybe I’ll give them a go!

I’ve always been drawn to a chain design, maybe because it reminds me of blouses in this design that look very chic and elegant. I’ve not ever got one though, only had a scarf that looks quite nice tied at the neck in a big bow. Not sure that’s still in fashion now lol!

This midi has nice puffy long sleeves with has a button fastening, the v neckline is a decent depth and looks nice and smart. The silky fabric is a joy to wear and feels comfortable on, not too hot which is what I need. So all in all an absolute winner for me, especially when it was free!

Additions were my tan slouch boots which I adore, they are soft leather and work really nicely with my dresses and skirts and the height of the heel is perfect too. The block heels is sturdy so makes them a comfortable wear & are very supportive which is brilliant for long days on my feet shopping or on a day out. I accessorised with gold jewellery for a striking finish. What do you think?

  3. Love this dress on you-I guess you were meant to own it! I like the bold chain design, it is reminiscent of the bold and colorful designer blouses of the 70's. Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for sharing!

  4. How amazing that she had the dress you were looking for! It really looks like you too so one that will stay in your closet. After adding several dresses to my closet, I probably will get rid of a few older ones at the end of summer if I haven't reached for them during these warm months.
