Style Not Age - Frilled to Bits.

Hi there.
How are you and have you had a good week?

Finally starting to feel like me.  It's been a busy week, but nice to be back doing the things I love.
Dancing on Friday was great, we learnt the Rumba and I mastered the steps well, but mastering the technique is another story.  I don't think I'll ever get that right.  I have to admit I really wished I taken up this kind of dancing years ago, I love everything about it, from the different movements to the sequins on the outfits, with the tans and makeup making everything look magnificent.  Shame I only get to wear my usual clothes when I go.  The club does run dance events where students can practice what's been learnt, but I never go to any of these are I don't want to go on my own and not have a partner for all the dances.  I'll have to settle with my 3/4 hour each week and imagine I'm competing ... lol!

Saturday I had Max overnight, I have to say he was an angel, he really did settle well with me and considering I don't ever get a look-in when he comes over I was so happy - he was so good so I'm hoping we've turned a corner and he'll be my friend from now on!

Sunday was good weather so I went to my eldest daughters for a BBQ.  It was lovely to spend time with the kids playing on the trampoline and 'trying' to play football with them.  Kids do keep you young don't they, and I feel in my head about 20! Ha the body says otherwise though! Downside was the wind.  The sun was shining and had it not been so blowy it would have been brilliant to sit in the sun, but It got so cold we ended up indoors.  I neglected to take a coat or jacket too, so walking home was really chilly so I reached for my furry blanket for the rest of the night.  What did you get up to over the weekend?

Today has yet to be decided, but what I did decide on early in the week was my outfit for the Style not Age challenge. We looked to Anna for our prompt and although at first I didn't know what to style I eventually came up with this easy to wear wrap dress for the monthly challenge.

Frilled to bits.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

I'm a frilly kind of girl, I adore any sort of frills over a garment so if it's arms with frills or frilly additions on a top I'm all over it.  When I picked this wrap dress it didn't occur to me it had frills on it.  I didn't realise until I studied my wardrobe for something with frills.  The dress literally jumped out at me so I eagerly tried it on and found it fitted the bill beautifully.

The pale green and white midi dress is a style I feel right at home in.  This one is from a big choice on the Izabel Clothing site.  I was kindly asked to pick a couple of items and this wrap dress was one of my favourites.

Don't you just love a fabric that's soft to the touch, this material is just the loveliest viscose and felt amazing on.  The sage green wrap dress* has a large white paisley design all over it & that's a print I'm always drawn to.  It's got a v neck line and short sleeves making it cool and comfy for Summer wear.  The wrap dress has a button to fasten one side of the wrap and the other wraps around the front where it can be tied in a bow on the side leaving the wrap to fall beautifully down the front in a pretty curve that has the frill along the edge. It makes it the ultimate feminine style and will be an eye catching dress for that special occasion coming up ... this might be a possibility for the wedding next week - you can see my other choice here.

Here's a closer look at the frills.  I love the drape and how this dress just flutters in the breeze.  I want you to note there's no worry of flashing because there's plenty of material on either side.

I mixed up my greens for this look, and isn't my little bag a dream?  I'd put small green bag on my birthday list and this is what I got - didn't David do well.  He always gets my bag choices right.  It's from Dune and although I've not used it yet I know I'm going to have many exciting outings with this beauty.
You've seen my delicious shoes before, I always get lovely comments when I wear these ankle tie sandals and although are quite uncomfortable they look super don't they. 💚 Anything for the cause eh!

See the V neckline that's very relaxed.  I like the way it sits, it makes me feel rather chic.

Let us take a look at how my four colleagues got on with the challenge

Firstly here’s what Hilda picked. The frills on this dress are first class and certainly are noticeable, I'd have picked this Whistles dress too.
You can find more about her outfit on the blog Over the Hilda

Emma’s turn now. She’s gone for a stunningly pretty top that she bought on her latest trip to Funchal and doesn't it compliment her trousers and accessories beautifully.  You can see more from Emma on her blog Style Splash.

Anna - Anna’s Island Style picked this fabulous outfit featuring her homemade petticoat and Summer cowboy boots - I'm wanting my own boots after seeing these Anna. X

Lastly Gail - Is This Mutton? opted for a blast of Summer colour with her orange shirt and lemon trousers.  Gail recently visited The Chelsea Flower Show and is emulating the riot of colour she must have seen.

Thanks so much for joining us today and you can view some more of our challenges here, here and here.
Catch you on Thursday for a brand new Chicandstylish link up.
Cheerio for now. X
