I'm enjoying a quieter week after a busy period with birthdays, the wedding and the hen/stag weekends. My youngest daughter is in Glastonbury so I'll be avidly watching the telly to see if I can see her ... lol!
The other two are away with their families on Sunday and my son is also off next week too! It's going to be very strange to have most of them away, and to be honest I'm not sure I'm going to like it!! Fortunately my youngest is still around but will be working shift work so he'll be in and out. I'm looking after Halle so I'm sure she'll keep my busy with needing walks and lots of attention. It's nice to 'borrow' her every now and again, and it reminds me that I don't want the tie of having a dog full time - so this'll do nicely for me.
I must just share this story with you as I’m chuffed to pieces about it. Yesterday I met a friend for lunch and a catch up. Whilst sitting at my table a lady came over from the next table and showed me her phone. It had a photo of me on it (from Instagram) and asked if it was me! It was and she told me she follows me and just had to come and ask. Her husband also confirmed it was me because I had the same handbag with me that I used in the piccy! Well you can imagine I was thrilled to bits and felt amazing. She told me her name so I mentioned it on the gram and am now following her too! It’s nice to actually meet people in real life isn’t it and I would have felt the same, bit like meeting someone famous!
After borrowing my daughters knitted dress the other day, I knew that it was offered in black too, but was a previous season so I set about finding one on Vinted! There were lots on there and I managed to bag a bargain with this one for £4 BNWT. I got the same size as Sophie's and am really happy with the fit. I popped a full slip under it to gain a smoother appearance, and paired it with some new sandals.
I've been noticing loads of black dresses recently so decided I needed a casual one to add to my Summer dresses. Finding this one on Vinted was easy and I've been pleased to welcome it to my collection and couldn't wait to wear it as soon as it arrived. That was on Monday night when I went to my mum's for a steak dinner with David, my sister and her husband. My uncle has been staying with her and also my cousin came down for the day too. It was so nice to see them & catch up after a good few months (my uncle) and a lot of years (my cousin). We got the photo albums out as my cousin had bought one with her, it was good to see old photos of family members no longer with us, and all commented how alike our newer children were to their parents and in some cases their grandparents!
So the dress is a fine knit with a little stretch to it. It has wide vest style straps and is basically a straight column style to the hem which finishes midi length. I might try wearing a belt with it sometime too, that’s for when I change it up and make it a bit more feminine with a bit more shape to it.
There's a host of colours I could wear with this classic dress, but here I opted for these chunky sandals that have just come into my possession. I saw them a couple of weeks ago when I was looking for sandals for the wedding (I wanted sage green but couldn't find any) but I did spot these in Yours Clothing. They're a very wide fit but I figured as my feet generally swell and get bigger in the hotter weather they would be okay, so far I've been right and they've fitted me well. They also are available in black which I might just have to get as well! These trendy sandals made for a nice casual outfit, but I'll be wearing heels in the future making the dress suitable for the evening too!
I chose this little clutch bag that has both black and cream in it, which complimented both dress and sandals as did the gold accessories.

You look fabulous in this dress, and your accessories are spot on! I haven't really been recognized "in the wild" except for one of my favorite stores where many of the women there subscribe to my blog. But, gosh, that would be fun! Thanks so much for the link party!
