Morning all
Hope your first days of June have gone well.
Birthday Celebrations yesterday for me, it was my youngest who celebrated his 26th. We got together as a family and had a few drinks and a takeaway. The weather was sunny but still very windy so we didn’t sit outside which was such a shame. We all squeezed indoors to enjoy food and drinks.
The three of us popped up the road to our local for one drink early in the afternoon, it was great to relax and unwind in the sun, although we had to move locations as the first table was VERY windy! I'm just so over this wind now, need some proper summer weather eh!
I’ve had a really busy couple of weeks and the next one won’t be any different! I went out for afternoon tea twice and then took my mum out to lunch with my sister last week, it was a belated Mothers Day treat and we all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch out at Crescent Turner which is about a 10 min drive from me. It’s a stunning venue and offer weddings there too! There was one going on when I was there which was lovely to see and also quite exciting as I’ll be there for my nephews in the week! Do you remember I’ve been toying with two dresses and have finally, with the help of David, decided on one to wear. Do watch out to see which one I picked!
My jumpsuit today has been in my possession for a couple of months now. I’ve featured it on IG before, but donned it for the celebratory afternoon and loved how it felt and looked.
Isn’t it nice to have a great relaxing day when you don’t have to worry about being somewhere, cooking or doing anything mundane? That’s just how I felt yesterday for James’ birthday. David and I had worked in the garden in the morning. Well I say worked, I watched him and helped ‘get’ things when I could. You know we are building in our garden, we’re also planning to build in the front garden too! This will replace our old, dilapidated property that we’d always planned to demolished in due course. Well in order to comply with the old building regulations we had to ‘start’ the new build before the end of June. So with drains being an acceptable beginning that was what we started with. They are well under way to be completed so we will be seen to have ‘started’ and will have save us a lot of complicated work and a big amount of money … yay!
After the mornings work I quickly showered and donned this gorgeous jumpsuit. I’m a big fan of the all-in-one and have been waiting patiently for an opportunity to wear this beauty.
Are you familiar with Izabel London? If you follow the blog you’ll know I love their clothes and often pick something of theirs for weddings or special occasions. They offer really good quality ‘different’ pieces which are all exceptional great quality and very eye- catching.
My midi length jumpsuit* has a zip up the back and a fancy tie detail at the front. The fluted half sleeve is very flattering and feels cool and relaxed for any outing. It's a striking abstract pattern in friendly colours of peach, cream and brown. Marry it with strappy sandals, flat pumps or comfy trainers for day to night wear, you're sure to enchant everyone you meet!
A lightweight fabric that feels soft and smooth on and sizes you can confidently rely on - I'm wearing my usual size and it fits beautifully. I styled it with comfortable wedges that are neutral cream & snakeskin. I adore the big buckles that sit across the foot and around the ankle both give excellent support.
Today is also the first Monday post of the month, so it's time to look back on last months outfits for the ... May Review.
I started the month off with another wining look based around my beige faux leather skirt. Here I teamed it with rust. I love the casual but dressy feel and figured it'd be great for a trip to my daughters. Do pop back to checkout all the details and also let me know what you think. X
Next I shared a little insight into my weekend away with the hens. I've still to publish my post about the weekend in Majorca, but will let you know when I do. Until then you can hear a little about my preparations and what I wore the night before leaving.
I shared a stunning laser cut bag next. This I paired with my favourite find of the year by way of this denim skirt. I wore a white blouse and my new white belt for birthday celebrations. Do click back to find out all about it.
We all have out 'go to' comfortable outfits don't we, so last month I wanted to share one of mine with you. These culottes have been a firm favourite since I got them. There's so many possibilities with them I've hardly scratched the surface. Do watch out for them throughout the Summer, because with this strange weather we've been having they are the perfect piece to team so many tops and sandals with.
Finally here's what the Style not Age group share for the prompt Frilled to Bits. This pretty wrap dress in sage green paisley fits the bill for weddings and special events, so much so I'm thinking this will be my choice for the wedding celebrations on Thursday - do stop by to see if this is the winner!
Many thanks for joining me today, thanks so much for your support.
Catch you again on Thursday for the Chicandstylish linkup.
Cheerio for now. X
You are certainly going to have a busy summer with a wedding and a new build! We were in the middle of that about this time last year (though we didn't do any of the building). This jumpsuit is so stylish and chic, Jacqui! I can see you wearing it lots this summer. Loved all your looks last month, but especially that green frilly dress! Have a fabulous week!
