How’s you week been?
A busy one for me with my daughter and her family moving in last Thursday.
If you read last week’s blog you’ll have seen I had to clear out the bedroom where I keep all my dresses. I’ve put nearly all of them for sale in Vinted and so far I’ve sold about £60’s worth. Lots of the items have been, quite frankly, worn to death, so it’ll be nice to put the money to good use and get some pieces for Autumn. I’ve seen plenty of khaki green bits in H & M so will be checking out the website and adding to my basket.
After a busy weekend, it’s been nice to chill today, although I’m cooking a roast so I’m not sure how ‘quiet’ it’ll be!
On Sunday David and I went out to have dinner with some friends, we had a delicious roast beef dinner in the local restaurant RockLodge which is done out just like a ski lodge in the middle of a Winter season. It brought back lots of memories of skiing and will be top of my list come Winter when there’ll be a difference in the weather - it’ll be even more like I’m on a ski break .. lol
It’s the last Monday of the month so time to make way for the ladies of the Style not Age collective and checkout our outfits for latest challenge ….
Craving Crochet.
It was my turn to pick the challenge title this month and I immediately knew what I wanted to go with.
You see I've been liking the crochet trend for a while now so I quickly let my friends know my choice so they could get preparing theirs.
This left me with the job of finding a dress for it. I found this striped maxi on Vinted and love the look it gives. The only problem being it's rather long on me, and as it's crochet it has a big amount of stretch in it - it seemed to get longer as I was wearing it! It dragged on the floor even though I had heels on, so I might have to either get someone to shorten it (can that be done by unpicking the stitches) or selling it back on Vinted - do you have any ideas for me? Let me know in the comments if you do please.
Let’s take a look at what everyone else has chosen - we’ll start with Hilda - Over the Hilda. She's looking very colour co-ordinated in this beige suit with red accents, the hand bandages are a result of falling onto her hands and injuring her fingers, so her original outfit wasn't an option - this looks very striking - love it.
Next it’s Anna’s turn, you can find out all about her Karen Millen cardigan and the rest of her look on the blog Anna’s Island Style.
Emma - Style Splash opted for a funky vest top. It's complimenting some vibrant trousers and matching shirt. Catch the backstory over on the blog.
Finale look comes from Gail - Is This Mutton? Wow what a cute dress Gail's wearing, very 60's inspired and a brilliant colour for Summer. You can see all the finishing touches on her blog.
So pleased you joined me today, I love having you here.
What have you got on this week? I’m looking forward to getting some Autumnal clothes sorted, have you been buying yet?
See you on Thursday for the last Chicandstylish Linkup of the month.
Cheerio for now. X
Lovely dress Jacqui, it might work being taken up. I've been having a massive clear out, it makes me feel I can breathe again! xx
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous dress Jacqui! I don't know if you can shorten a crochet dress...maybe you could turn it up and hem it. It would look great with some chunky platform sandals which would give you a bit of extra height. I don't know why brands make things so long - I've got half a dozen pairs of trousers to take up!

Jacqui, loved this challenge and your dress. I hope you don't have to sell it on. I think I got confused with the title though. Initially I knew it was craving.. then I thought someone said crushing... ah well it was appropriate for me....
ReplyDeleteThat crochet maxi dress is so fun on you! I think being crochet it may be tricky to hem, but it looks so good for you I'd give hemming it a try for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the Weekday Wear Link up :)
