How are you doing?
Are you looking forward to the new month and season? I’m in two minds as usual, half of me wants to keep my Summer dresses and sandals out and enjoy some sunshine, as we’ve not had much nice in the UK and as I’ve not been abroad on a Summer holiday since my hen weekend in Majorca, I’ve missed out on soaking up the Sun and getting a tan! It’s a shame I’ve not enjoyed the sun on my skin or worn some of my pretty Summer dresses and I’ve definitely not got a nice tan to show off!
The other half wants cooler Autumnal days to arrive so I can put to god use all my blazers and long sleeve shirts, I’ve got so many patiently waiting and lots of ideas how to wear them. I’ve also had my head turned by loads of clothes in the shops - I recently visited H & M and fell for some of the offerings that were khaki green. It’s going to be a fashionable colour next season and one I think will suit my colouring so I’ll be buying lots in this shade for sure.
Today’s outfit features a mix of Summery and Autumnal shades. Barbie pink meets midnight black in this classic ensemble.
Having seen lots of pink on Instagram recently I pulled these pink trousers from my wardrobe and decided to style them around my new chunky sandals.
So black was the option I looked at.
Guess what though?
Having worn this today to pop over to see my mum the new sandals broke! My new black sandals broke! I’m so annoyed with my Next chunky’s which cost quite a bit of money by my standards. I’ve found the receipt and will be matching over to their store for a replacement, probably later today!!
Anyway enough about my bad luck, let’s run you through my outfit.
I started off with cerise pink wide leg trews. I adore both colour and style of these fabulous palazzo legs and love the way they look, very flattering on all shapes and sizes - do you wear this style? I picked these up in M & S a while back and although they’re not a fashionable colour now, they will be held at the back of my wardrobe for when they’re back in fashion! Do you hold onto classic styles for the future?
Nothing new here, you’ve seen both blazer and top before. The jacket was a bargain from Matalan for a snip at £8, yes I know too good to say no! It’s going to be a big player throughout the coming season so I hope you don’t get bored of it! I’ve worn it plenty already so you can catch another fab look here when I teamed it with my other wide leg trousers from Marks or with my stripy dress and new tan sandals.
My slinky black top has been around for ages, and has literally been worn to death, but still looks great as do the other colours I bought …. cream, yellow and peach. All a wardrobe staple and all worn and washed well - if you find something you love, get it in other colours too!
I neglected to grab my bag for the photos, but my black tote bag looked stylish with this look, and I would also team a pink bag with it or maybe a sliver clutch would work well too!

ReplyDeleteBarbie Pink in a classy and sophisticated way! The summer's been disappointing, I'm happy to move on and hopefully we get some autumn sun x
ReplyDeleteI hope you were able to get replacements for your sandals. How annoying! Especially when they're new. The pink trousers are a great way to add some fun to this classic look!

Oooh, Jacqui, these hot pink pants are fabulous! I love bright pink and black together. You look perfectly ready for fall in this gorgeous outfit. What a bummer about your sandals though. I hope they replace them for you without any issues. Thanks so much for the feature today. That was a wonderful surprise to start the day!

This is the 2nd bright pink outfit I have seen this week: I am pulling out my bright pink top to wear soon! Love the contrast with the black and hope you get that sandal replaced easily without trouble.

Your look is stylish and I love how the splash of pink you added.
ReplyDeleteI don't think to mix black and pink, but they sure do work together well! I love these pink pants. It's too bad your shoes broke. I do hope you were able to get them replaced. Thanks for the link up!

I love the fact that you went for the pink pants rather then for a pink top, kind of reversed pop of colour. It gives your outfit and interesting new demention that I really like. Pity about your sandals, hope you will get them fixed or replaced.
ReplyDeletePink and black is such a fabulous combo! Love how this look came together!

Pink and black are such a nice combo! Sucks about your sandals, but maybe you'll find something else that inspires you when you go back to exchange them ;-) Have a great week!
