How are you?
We're still enjoying the hot sunny weather we've been experiencing here in the UK, how about you? I wasn't expecting this and have been wanting to get my season appropriate clothes on and enjoy a bit of cooler temperatures - I know I'm outnumbered - especially by the family who are all over the hotter weather, it's hard to know what to put on though isn't it!
Today's look is a bit of both. Denim skirts are making quite a statement for Autumn, so I thought I'd pop mine on with a thinner, lighter top. The cold shoulder style isn't really on trend now, but you know me, I'm not a fashion follower, so donned it anyway - what do you think?
I don't really want to be talking about the 'C' word but have you seen any Christmas bits in the shops yet? I have in quite a few and although I don't want to be thinking about it or doing any shopping I feel I should as every year I leave it to the last minute and end up panicking! Tell me, have you bought any presents yet? Well having said all of that, I do have a little Christmas list up and running .... for me ... lol. There's only a couple of things on it so far, do you want to know what they are, if so I’ll give you a few days Grace and share them with you next week!
Let me talk you through my OOTD. You may remember seeing my denim skirt back in Spring for the Style not Age challenge when I had all sorts of ideas for it. I've worn it a handful of times so far, and I know it'll be a popular pick come the cooler temperatures.
So more about my mixed season outfit. The skirt pretty much speaks for itself, it's a midi style with big split up the front. I had to track this one down on Vinted, but since then I've spotted loads in the shops and online - this is similar for the same shop. It looks good with sandals as well as trainers and I reckon any of my long boots will go with it too.
Do you or did you wear the open shoulder style? I had a few tops like this and find they were quite flattering whilst keeping cool at the same time, great if you don't like to show too much of your arm. I've seen a few online and this one is very similar to the one I'm styling. This has been hanging up for a few years (quite a few actually ..) and you can see it styled with some white culottes here.
I wanted to add a bit of interest into the mix so put on this distinct little statement belt - isn't it fabulous? Black and white is a consistent favourite with fashion followers making it a timeless, season-less combination that never fails to impress whatever it's paired with other shades and also when it's on it's own.
I went really daring with the bag too, its a zebra stripe design and holds just the essentials, you know lipstick, phone and a little card or some cash. What do you think of my black and white blend - works well I think. 🖤🤍
Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today, do let me know what you've been up to recently as I love to know.
See you again on Thursday for the linkup party.
Cheerio for now. X
I always quite liked that style of top, I think it's really flattering. I love yours in black and white checks, it's fabulous! I'm not such a fan of the denim skirt though, I always find that they move around on the hips and it drives me bonkers lol!

Thanks Suzy, they are good for warm weather when you want to keep your arms covered. Yes I think the skirt is a bit like that, mine looks okay from the front, but has a lot of material at the back! x
DeleteOhh, that top is such a gem! I love the little cut outs on the sides. And, everyone has been wearing these long denim skirts lately... I really need to get one myself!

You look so good in this skirt, Jacqui! And, while some may say that top is not on trend right now, I think you've nailed the look! I'm on the lookout for a denim skirt, but I want more of a loose fit. Of course, I can't find any! Have a fabulous rest of the week!

HI Jacqui! I love the added belt to contrast with your top, and I have been eyeing the denim maxi myself. I just bought an Ecru colored one on Mango, so we'll see!
ReplyDeleteLove this denim skirt on you and I like that top with it as well! I'll always wear what I like - trending or not! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the Weekday Wear Link up :)
