How are you all doing?
Still been a busy bee, but have to admit to enjoying the cooler weather here in the South East but with that being said it’s still humid at times which makes me so miserable. I just get so hot! My hair sticks to my head and looks an absolute nightmare, I put 'weather suitable' clothes on and have to change halfway through the day into something warmer/cooler. Well that is Autumn I suppose!
I’m really enjoying my gym classes now and feel I’m improving with each visit. I’d like to do more classes but they become so time consuming as travelling to and from the gym, home to shower and wash my hair makes it almost a half day event! Two of my daughters have started couch to 5k so I’m contemplating trying that again, at least I can do that at my leisure. Do you regularly visit the gym or do home workouts? To be fair anything that we do involving exercise has to be a good thing, doesn’t it.
Are you excited it's jean season? I am! I adore wearing my jeans and have a few waiting to be worn again. I do need to sort through them and get rid of some that are probably too small or unflattering, so that’s a job on my to do list. Wide leg styles are prominent at the moment which I'm pleased about as it's a style I find compliments my shape. So today's look is based around my light wash jeans. Are you embracing jeans yet?
Working from bottom to top, let's talk about the outfit I wore last Tuesday.
Dainty shoes are back in fashion, although chunky trainers are still favoured by many, which I'm so pleased about as I've just bought a pair of cream Ozweego trainers from Vinted and I'm dying to wear them. They will fit in rather nicely with my new khaki capsule wardrobe. I'm still adding to it and as of yet haven't worn any of it - I've got my eye on a pair of trousers from M & S which are sold out online, I plan a little trip into town maybe Saturday morning to track them down, wish me luck!
These black slingbacks (similar) are a soft vegan leather and I found them in the New Look sale. Although they are quite high they are very comfortable - so much so I found a cream pair online which I snatched up quickly. Both have been worn quite a few times with dresses and trousers and are ultra feminine to say the least. I'm really excited this style of shoe is back in fashion, so I'm sure you'll be seeing more of them in the coming months.
The jeans are a light wash loose style that fit and feel great on. Mine are from River Island, who offer good quality jeans at a reasonable price. They really are sturdy denim and not the thin stretchy fabric some shops offer. They have button fly fastenings and finish on the ankle. The colour is just right for the new season and will team nicely with lots of different tops, from shirts to jumpers and long or short sleeve Tee shirts these will have you sorted!

I'm a big fan of Tee shirts and have a black, white, grey and this stripy one that I rotate. I really need some more to choose from and will be adding to my collection on my next shopping trip. Most of mine are from H & M as I find the quality very good. I like to wear fitted styles as I think they're the most flattering. Are you a fan of fitted styles or do you like a baggy style?
Did you spot my belt? I do love a designer belt. This one is from T K Maxx and was in the sale. The DKNY black belt is reversible. It has a red side which has come in handy once or twice already.
You've seen and heard about my over-sized blazer before haven't you. I'm really pleased I bought this blazer for an absolute steal, costing a ‘whopping’ £8 in the Matalan sale it has to be bargain of the season! I've worn it so much and know it'll earn it's keep in no time, it just goes with so much. You can see I wore it with cerise pink trousers and also topping off my stripey dress with tan accessories.

The only exercise I do is walking the dog. I know I should be doing mor but like you say, time is the problem. A great outfit Jacqui. I'm after some black sling backs myself xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a day job indeed, working out. Luckely for me my gym is a5 minute cycle from my house and I never sweat. And I work out at home too. That saves a lot of time. What a great relaxed and yet so stylish outfit you are wearing. Love stripes!
ReplyDeleteHave become a bit slack with the gym, have only been going there occasionally for Pilates. Need to raise my game. Lovely autumn outfit x
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous, Jacqui! I am not loving jeans right now although I did just share a denim outfit today! I think I am just not ready to let go of summer and my summer dresses. As for exercise, I'm like you, if you are doing anything no matter how little, it has to be better than doing nothing at all, right?! I do about 45 minutes of gentle yin yoga in my living room every morning promptly at 4:45 before the morning rush of getting children ready for school begins. I do need to add some cardio exercise though!

Jill and I are talking about jeans to day too! It's still hot here but that's FL, always hot. Thanks for the link up Jacqui!

Oh wow, Jacquie, fancy that blog being popular especially as it was one long diatribe against ageing!!! Btw, I'm feeling better. Like you, I don't like the humidity and/or heat. I do think exercise is so important and fortunately my Pilates class is on Zoom which is so convenient. I also do a 1-2-1 via Zoom so there's no travelling to and from a gym, which is a great timesaver.
ReplyDeleteI love a jeans and blazer look! This outfit is fabulous! I'm stying jeans on the blog today too!

I walk Jacqui and do a little yoga at home. I know I should do weights too..... soon.....
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the start of jean season for sure! I run a couple times a week and I finally started getting back to some short workouts at home: no more than 15 min! Going somewhere just takes too long and cost money and I never took enough advantage of my gym membership.

I love your jeans! Thanks for the party.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the gym being half a day. I used our development pool all during the summer and alternated with our treadmill and weights. Now that it is cooling down I will go to the gym and use their pool, weights, but it is time consuming. Love the light jeans and you have such a good eye for sales!
ReplyDeleteI am working on my walking routine now that the weather is cooling down. Your blazer and jeans outfit is one of my primary go-to looks from fall through spring.

I really do need to up my exercising...well, it wouldn't take much as I do very little at the moment. I think your blazer and jeans are quite smart!

Love your outfit! Perfect for an upscale casual look!
ReplyDeleteLoving this classic look on you, especially that steal of a blazer! I am excited for the weather to cool down so I can start wearing jeans again!
