Hi there everyone.
Hope your world is good and you’re getting ready for the festive season.
I’ve yet to really get going. I’ve purchased a few gifts already, but need to get loads more plus cards, wrapping paper, table decorations and all the food … the list is endless!
I’m planning on a trip to the outlet on Friday so fingers crossed I come home with bags spilling and empty lists!
Today I’m out for lunch with the ballet ladies, we’re off to a local chain for a festive meal and glass of fizz, it’s just down the road so not far for me to travel. Not sure what I’m going to wear though, but it will be festive, I’ll try to post some piccys on Instagram for you to see. Have you been out for a Christmas party yet? Let me know if you have or are, and do share what you are wearing!
I might give these super smooth trousers a try. I’ve worn them once already, and you can read on below to find out why they are so lovely.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me however these are 100% my own honest comments.
So let me tell you more about my yummy trousers. I spotted a fellow Instagram’er wearing some and checked out where they were from. Good old Marks and Spencer my friends. I did some searching and found the exact pair on Vinted, well as you can imagine I snapped them up without a second thought and couldn’t wait for them to arrive. I bought my usual size but in a short length, this fitted me a good way above the ankle making them the perfect cropped style to team so many tops and boots with. They are a very soft faux leather and fit in all the right places. They’ve got traditional side and back pockets, fit neatly on the waist and have a fancy 80’s style seam down the front of the leg, anyone else remember ironing seams down the legs of jeans and trousers?
So what to pair with them, well the question should be what can’t you style with these black beauties! This neutral shade will show off just about any colour, and if you go with black the trousers will be in their element and shine for the winners they are.
Flicking through my wardrobe my eyes fell upon this striking shirt in neutral tones but the nice thing about the top is the design. It’s covered in a bridle pattern in shades of mushroom, grey and burgundy red, a brilliant shade to brighten dull days and a shade that will take you seamlessly from formal classic to casual beauty in any piece you choose. The richness of this flattering red blends beautifully into Autumn hues - one you’d wear my friends?
Salamander Shirts is one of my favourite suppliers of unique shirts and I’ve been lucky enough to feature lots of them on the blog already. You might remember the stunning watercolour style, this silky neutral top and my favourite leopard print version to name a few.
This features various bridles and tassels and for obvious reasons is called Bridle*. The silky soft shirt is available in sizes 36 - 48 (see size chart on the website) and also comes in a delicious shade of green too! Priced at an affordable £55 this equestrian themed shirt will be first passed the post for any horse lover!
I have to add the shirts are easy to wash & dreamy to iron, now isn’t that good to hear!
Last additions were my long line cream blazer that works with just about everything. I adore that it’s got such great coverage and hides my rear, it’s also a versatile classic so one I’d recommend you try! I bookend’d the blazer with cream court shoes (no they’re not boots, my legs are very pale 😂). Hop back to this post to read all about them.
Isn’t the little bag is cute too! Another borrowed from my youngest daughter. She’s got quite a hoard and it’s nice to have a little rummage in her cupboard, much like she does mine! Ha ha ha! It’s from TK Maxx, and like me my daughter buys loads from them, always worth a look.

I stopped by a friend's Christmas brunch last Sunday and I wore a blue sweater dress with a sparkly cowl neck . Today is the Christmas parade and we are stopping by an afternoon Christmas snack at our local realtor: wearing a bright red sweater and jeans (it's going to be cold out.). It's so fun to have some get togethers. I love these faux leather pants: the seam and pockets make them more versatile I think! And the length is perfect. What a great find.

Great neutral outfit, Jacqui! Love the trousers-wish we had Marks & Spencer in the US! The Bridle print shirt is the perfect compliment to your look. I am afraid I am a little behind on getting ready for Christmas, too. Must shift into high gear! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the link up!
ReplyDeleteFab outfit Jacqui! I love the bridle print shirt.

Now, these pants are so fabulous! And, the bridle shirt is perfect for them! I love all the other accessories, and my legs are just as pale! As for Christmas shopping...most of that is done except for a couple of my people. The house is decorated, but we don't have the meal sorted yet. I probably need to get busy on that one. Thanks for the link up!
