Monochromatic Tweed Jacket - #Chicandstylish #Linkup

Hi there, how’s it going?
Have you had storms where you are?

We’ve had two in the past week, Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn have been battering the UK making everything so much harder! Things seem to have quietened down now so I managed to get these photos taken yesterday albeit slightly overcast.

I’ve had a great week for dinners. My youngest daughter cooked on Monday, my middle daughter prepared another super meal on Tuesday and last night I was out for food at my eldest daughter’s house. As usual it was good to be around the grandkids and even better that I didn’t have to do any of the preparations.  But even better than that, I’m out with my old work colleagues tonight, ☺️ so no kitchen duties for me this week …. result!

My outfit today is based around this stylish blazer I was kindly gifted from Jenerique London.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments

So let’s take a look at my outfit in a bit more detail.
The blazer caught my eye the moment I saw it. I’ve always been drawn to this tweed style * and anything in black is a winner in my eyes, even more so if it’s got gold threads through it.
Monochrome outfits are always very elegant because they are classic and don’t date. They’ll always look neat and fresh.
It was an obvious choice to wear this faux leather skirt. This came from Matalan a few years ago & like may of the things I like to wear tend not to date. I’ve been calorie counting and was delighted to find I fitted into it again (it had been rather tight, so hadn’t been worn very often), but I reckon it looks great on and is very trendy.

Faux leather anything looks classy don’t you think. Wearing it always makes me feel chic especially when it fits nicely. I’ll let you into a little secret, I’ve got this skirt in two sizes, so when my weight fluctuates I’ll be donning the other size, like I do with my tan trousers

I popped a black skinny rib jumper over the skirt. I’ve got a couple of these in different colours and really did miss a trick as they’re so flattering - I should have bought all the colours. Next time I visit Primark I’ll be checking out whether they’re still available. It’s thin enough to wear another jumper or shirt over the top, or maybe a vest top would work just as well. Layering is key to keep warm in Winter isn’t it, and did you see the Layer Band I styled last week?

Cute black ankle boots, a pouch clutch bag and black tights completed the outfit along with gold jewellery. It’s nice to keep the gold accents matching any details on the skirt or jacket don’t you think.

  5. Great looking chic and stylish outfit, Jacqui! You can't go wrong with classic black and white. I am wearing this color combination on my post this week, too. Buying basics in two sizes is a good idea, especially if you love them and will wear them through the years. Thanks for the link up and enjoy your weekend!

  6. Jacqui! You look fabulous in this tweed jacket! I love the black column underneath it. Lucky you for not cooking. I made up a chicken casserole which should work for four nights (part of it is frozen). Luckily, my husband doesn't mind reheats! Thanks for the link up! I hope you'll join me Thursday, Friday, or both for link ups!
