A Black & White dress from NNL -#Chicandstylish #Linkup

Hi there, thanks for joining me today.
How’s your week been?

Our weather has taken a turn for the worst and it’s very chilly here. I’ve been wrapped up in lots of layers even indoors as I seem to really have been feeling the cold.
I have seen signs of Spring being just around the corner. On a walk with Max the other day I saw daffodil leaves sprouting, I just can’t wait for the flowers to bloom. 🌼

I’ve still not visited any shops yet, so have no sale purchases to share with you, instead I’m delighted to share a dress I was gifted last year. It’s definitely a Spring one as it’s got short fluted sleeves and is quite a thin fabric, but with layers like I’m showing today it’s still
an acceptable number to wear in these colder months.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

I enjoy wearing black and white outfits just as much as colourful items, so when asked to pick something from Needs No Labels I excitedly scanned the website and this black and white beauty * jumped out at me! It’s a ditsy pattern that will team with so many bright colours like my green accents but still look super cute worn with cool black accessories. 🖤🤍

It’s my usual length a midi and has a fancy smock detail at the waist which gives the dress a feminine shape, nothing like a gathered waist to show an hourglass figure (even if you’re like me - athletic mid section - it’s very flattering).
I’m fond of the fluted sleeves too, I like to cover my arms as I’ve got older, so this style is a big hit with me.
It’s been extremely cold here in the UK recently so I obviously covered up with the cardigan which winterise the dress, and I’ve also got layers on under it too.

Purely for the photos I popped this stunning tie shoes on, but would wear boots usually. I need to be a bit more adventurous with my footwear colours and am on the lookout for some slouch boots (perfect if you have wide calves) in brighter shades.

These green goddess’ have been a hit every single time I’ve worn them, there’s something about a sexy tie shoe that people love! Found them on BooHoo for a trip to London and I feel this style is going to be just as popular this Summer too!

An extra layer from my thick black coat. It’s a trench style complete with buttons and matching tie belt. It’s got a big collar and vent on the rear, all in all very much a wardrobe staple and I’m on the lookout for an off white version, see favourite blogger below. ⬇️ 😄

  2. Those shoes are sexy indeed! And the dress is perfect. I can't wait until it gets warmer. Its freezing here and today the power is off in our village, so no heating. Horror.

  3. I need to try that trick with the buttons. I love how the green paired with the dress: the contrast is beautiful!

  4. You're seeing signs of spring in January? That's amazing. We don't see signs of spring till April or May in Wisconsin. Your outfit is stunning. I love that bright green with that dress!

  6. It's been quite bitter here in Central Indiana, too. We had temperatures way below freezing. My poor dog did not like going outside! I love how you've used green as a pop of color against this beautiful dress, Jacqui! And, those shoes are spectacular! All in all, a lovely look! Thanks for the link party!

  7. Hi Jacqui! Its been cold here for NC, but nothing like where I used to live in PA. I love the combo of black and white and adding any color, the green is the perfect nod to upcoming spring days! You look lovely!

  8. It got really cold here too. We got some snow but it was a wintery mix with sleet as well which just turned to ice so pretty awful. This dress is lovely and I adore how you styled it with the green cardi. Just lovely.
