Hope you're week is going well.
The weather has been pants here recently. It’s been so windy any photo opportunities have been well and truly scuppered!
I’ve got the run of birthdays starting next week so it’s going to be busy and rather expensive! David’s big birthday is the weekend after next and we’re having a few drinks & nibbles to celebrate it. Mine is 18 days after that and I hope to have friends round to help me get through it! Unlike me as I usually face everything full on but if I’m honest I’m not looking forward to this one at all, 60 seems so old (no offence to anyone already there) and my aching joints confirm the advancing years. I know once it’s been and gone I’ll be fine and in the words or my best friend’s late mum … “I don’t fancy the alternative”!
So let’s put that talk away and concentrate on my latest dress from Jenerique London.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
You all know how much I like a leopard print and this one it the ultimate eye-catching example that I simply leapt at.
It’s a myriad of fabulous colours that are all striking and very in-your-face. The pink, yellow, mauve and gold are edged in black making it really stand out.
The dainty fabric is soft and light and has a good swishy feel to it. It’s a floaty calf length with a wrap bodice along with wide three quarter sleeves. It’s a nice style to wear in the Summer when dress wearing, for me, takes centre stage. Are you a fan of picking dresses when it’s hot?
It didn’t come with a belt but I wanted to cinch the waist in even more so added a black fabric belt which I tied on the side. I’ve also used this a neck tie in the past too!
I popped on my bright cerise shoes * that have a delicious block heel. They are made from luxurious suede and look a lot more expensive than the £75 on the Lotus Shoes website. They’re available in four other colours and also have a matching clutch bag. I picked a slightly different bag that has a little handle and this is my daughters - but don’t let her know I borrowed it!! lol 😂
Colour schemes are abundant. I’d happily pair black, gold, yellow or blue accessories as all work beautifully with the dress. It’s going to be a perfect addition to my holiday suitcase especially when the delicate material doesn’t crease. ✔️

Lovely dress, so bright and cheerful. I wouldn't worry about 60, as long as you're fit and healthy these can be the best years of our lives xx
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! You look amazing in that dress.
ReplyDeleteI am loving these pretty colors in your dress. Your indoor pictures look really good. Not having to deal with wind is great: that sometimes really messes with my pictures.

ReplyDeleteThis dress looks amazing, love the splash of bright colours and you look fabulous in it. I turned 60 three years ago, it is kind of a big deal, you move to the next box (60-70) :) but I got over it. Don't stress too much about
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous dress! I love the bold colours on you and the accessories and that belt are just perfect with it :)

Jacqui!!! You are absolutely stunning in the dress! I have felt more free and able to express myself in my 60s...I'm almost afraid to think of how I'll be in my 70s...though that's not for a bit yet. Thanks so much for the link up!
