Polka Dots and White Jeans - Chicandstylish #Linkup

Good morning everyone. 

How’s your month been?

Firstly big apologies for the late post today, life just seemed to get in the way!! Thanks for hanging about for me. 

Seems hard to believe it’s the last week of May and we’re heading into the half way month of 2024. Doesn’t time seem to fly bye now, or is it my age?

This week has been somewhat different than normal. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m away next Tuesday but there’s been lots to do and lots to get sorted. 

As it is was a bank holiday I decided to drop out my gym classes on Monday, I took advantage of some me time at home and got some posts sorted and my dressing room in order.  It’s half term here as well so yesterday I went with my son and his family to Diggerland. It’s a kids adventure venue that has a play area for kids to enjoy ‘playing with’ appropriate sized diggers. They had enormous fun and fortunately there was plenty for adults to do too! 

Last week I actually visited my local Matalan. I wanted to see what they had new in, but unfortunately where I live it seems the store is one of the latter to receive much in the way of  ‘new’ items. I did find a stunning pair of trousers which I’m excited to wear - stay tuned for these beauties. 

You may remember I had the pleasure of attending the Afternoon Tea event where Bonmarche were debuting the new David Emanuel collection - here’s one of my favourites. 🤍

The new collection boasts many stunning pieces that are either stand alone beauties or will mix and match together. This polka dot blazer * does both. 

It’s a striking jacket and I have to say I’ve been hankering after something like this for ages. I know for a fact it’ll look super pair with jeans (I’ve tried it) and think it’s going to partner loads of separates I have already. 

Today I’ve matched it with my white jeans but I’ve got an idea to wear it with my navy wide leg trousers and also a

white fitted dress. It’ll also look great with red, so my fiery culottes will be another way to show them off!

It’s a longer style that’s very flattering and gives such an elegant vibe, it also has front fastening and sleeves that finish above the cuff for a non-formal but stylish finish. 

Wear this beauty with pride as you’re bound to get noticed in it, I got some lovely compliments in mine and can’t wait to try it with red. Any ideas of how you’d wear it?

So I kept it streamlined by wearing white underneath the navy and white ensemble. I’ve had these cropped kick flare jeans a while now and love the look they create, it’s dressy when worn with heels but popping trainers on gives it a more laidback feel. I’ve got a plain round neck stretchy tee shirt on over my jeans and sealed the block-look with my white belt and mules. I’d wear something like this if a trip to the pub or out for a lunch with friends.
