What to wear with a Black Maxi - Chicandstylish #Linkup

Hi there everyone,
Thanks for joining me today.

How’s your week gone? Did you join the late linkup on Monday? Don’t worry if you missed it, you can join today’s which is linked below.

Weather wise it’s been a mixed bag here in Kent. I managed to take full advantage of the sunshine on Monday and got a few photos that turned out really well.  Today I’m sharing an outfit from Jenerique with photos I took a few weeks back when the weather was bad.
I do wish the weather would make up its mind and stay fine or wet, all this changing is driving me mad and making outfit decisions really difficult!  How’s your climate been? Talking of climate, I’ve found the perfect maxi dress for my upcoming holiday. This stunner from Jenerique will soak up some attention hopefully, especially on my forthcoming holiday to Majorca with my eldest and her family.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

So let me tell you a little bit about Jenerique, they're an oline shop selling stunning ladylike and very feminine dresses of all styles.  They also have jumpsuits, culottes and jackets which have been created with love for their customers.  Selling quality clothing at affordable prices means you can have special occasion and casual wear at your finger tips - do checkout their website, as I'm sure you'll fall for lots of pieces - do take advantage of my discount code for 15% off - use Mummabstylish at checkout!  I'm proud to have worked with Jenerique on many occasions and you can view some of the other styles here in a vibrant midi,  in a Jacquard Blazer,  styling a floral wrap dress & wearing a mesh dress.

I've always wanted a plain black maxi dress so when I spotted this one I knew I had to have it.  It's a purse friendly price just under £60 and this magical beauty boasts a deep v neckline, flattering ruched waist and a super wearable fabric that has a nice jersey drape to it, making the movements elegant and stylish.  I also like the thicker shoulder details which is easy to wear and feel comfortable in.

I styled tan accessories with the long style dress which finishes at a good length for me, it doesn't touch the floor and you can see my sandals quite well.  These are my Dune dupes, and cost a paltry £4 on Vinted - brand new I might add! The basket bag was a gift from my sister, I love this little bag especially as it’s got some very helpful additions.
It’s the perfect sized handbag that will carry all the essentials us girls like to have. It’s got an internal bag which has a draw-string fastening making it extra safe, the leather hardware makes it look most definitely designer and worth the reasonable price M & S sell them for. Take a look at this stunner that’s very similar.

Let’s not forget our summer hats, are you a wearer? I tend to go between this hat and a cap. It’s actually from TK Maxx and originally was from Dune. It’s a one size fits all version and has a hidden cord that can be pulled tighter or looser depending on your head circumference, such a fab idea. I managed to take this on holiday to Rhodes a couple of years ago, wrapping it within a couple of towels and non-creasable clothes. It worked brilliantly so I had a fully intact hat to wear, the cap was easier and folded in half.

  1. That would be the perfect black maxi dress for me! I'm loving it! It's raining here all the time. We have been to Rye last week and we had a few sunny and warm days there. But other then that it's a awful spring. Not cold but just so wet!

  7. I love the cut of your maxi! I try to wear a hat in the summer as sun definitely ages skin and I don't wear any products but I am not very consistent.
