How are you my friends?
I’ve had a brilliant weekend and am excited for the next as I’m away with four friends and David to celebrate our 60th birthdays! We’re off to the Isle of Wright for a weekend of fun, exploring, eating, drinking and having a laugh! No change there then .. lol! 😂 We always have a super fun time when we get together and the weekend will fly bye making lots of super duper memories. I’ll obviously keep you posted and let you know what I’m up to on Instagram, but in case you don’t follow me on there, I’ll share a dedicated post on it soon!
I’m needing to get into town to see the new offerings in real life. I’m afraid I’ve been so cold the past couple of weeks season, I’ve not really worn any new Springs styles yet! I did pop on a satin skirt, tee shirt, leather jacket and trainers earlier this week but soon changed into something warmer by the afternoon as I was so cold - anyone else having real issues with the cold temperatures?
Have also mentioned duck - gate? Well last week three little ducks decided to call in and stay for a while! I knew that I shouldn’t feed them bread so gave them some porridge oats, which they greedily devoured and wished them well. I saw them fly off later on that afternoon and thought nothing of it! You can imagine my surprise when the next morning they were back sitting and waiting for me. I gave them some more oats which they pecked at and left them to it. They nestled in the garden quite content even though there was no water for them to sit on or wade through! Guess what? They came back the next day and had the brazen audacity to waddling right up to my front door step and pooping on it! I shooed them back & off the step & again, stupidly I know, fed them. This happened all over the weekend so I popped a story on IG about them all. My friend said her in-laws had them in the garden and called them Wonton and Crispy (they don’t know where the third and quite plain bird came from) - so I knew they’d not come far and were obviously checking out the alternative hotels… lol! So here we are a week and a half later and they are still around! I’ve fed them traditional oats and notice they’ve settled on the ‘ponds’ created by the recent rain, but also seen they’ve returned home every so often! They must have felt happy at mine! lol! I joked with my friend that I should charge her rent for them!! 😂
You remember I had the pleasure of attending the Bonmarche Afternoon Tea event at Fortnum and Mason the other week? Well today I felt I should show you another radiant outfit from the David Emanuel collection.
Here’s my first choice from them.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
Now you’ve seen the outfit. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty of the pieces. You might be aware that David Emanuel has designed pieces for Bonmarche before and I have to say having viewed lots of their items this latest collection is simply divine. My look today is made up from the two piece blouse and the white wide leg trousers, I was kindly gifted!
I love a double layer, it’s like a little electric blanket for me and if a tops got two layers I’m all for wearing both. This one has a sweet little pale dusty pink cami top that’s got adjustable thin straps. It’s not fitted so creates a nice flattering silhouette. The sheer chiffon blouse sits over it either tucked in or left hanging loose. I like the fact it has long sleeves which fasten with a button. It’s also got faux buttons down the front giving the impression it does up but there’s no worry of gaping or having to do up/undo fiddly little buttons - anyone else struggle with these?
This fancy floral * comes in a range of sizes and fits true to size, it has a super purse friendly price of £20 and I have to say is well worth the price tag - do watch out for the yet-to-be-launched lemon version! 🍋
Now who doesn’t need a white wide leg trouser in their wardrobe? I’ve had linen ones in the past and did receive this flattering pair last year from the kids, but these are a bit more casual and work well with flats. I’ll be packing these for my next trip abroad when these beauties will be perfect for daytime wear to the shops or dressed up with heels in the evening.
The machine washable crepe trousers * run in sizes 10 to 28 and have an easy to pull on half elastic waistband. They also have pockets and although not lined are thick enough to keep everything out of sight - hate having see-through trousers don’t you! Price point of £22 is brilliant - you’ll thank me when you see how nice these are! Oh and before I forget they’re available in black too!
Finishing touches were my favourite dressy flats. I’ve had these for a few years now and they never fail to impress me. They were gifted from Van Dal ages back so therefore aren’t on sale any more! I’ve found these stunners that are very similar.
Last to mention is my bag, well it’s not actually mine it’s my youngest daughters but I’ve borrowed it so many times it might as well be mine! 😂 it’s from Primark and really is rather good quality for the reasonable cost - It cost just £10 (I know that because I nearly bought it, and was pleased to find my daughter had got it as a birthday present!) result eh!!

But this week we have some lovely warm days. And tomorrow it will be 10 degrees cooler again, pfff. Sounds like the perfect weekend you are going to have! Enjoy!

Hope you enjoy a great weekend birthday celebration! You look lovely in this outfit from David Emanuel. The blouse is such a dreamy fabric, print and color for spring, and I love the ruffled sleeves. I think you may have duck friends forever-once you feed them they call your home there's. Thanks for sharing and the link up!

Jacqui! You look absolutely fantastic in this floaty blouse with those lovely trousers! I do hope your duckies waddle away (or at least quit pooping on your step). Thanks so much for the link up!
