Hiya, how are you today?
Has your week gone well?
Been a slower few days after a busy weekend. Time to collect my thoughts and start planning for the “Summer” I’ll use the term loosely as I doubt it’ll be the summer I or anyone else wants if I’m honest! Because it was so hectic for me Mondays post was rather late! You can read about my weekend and see the beautiful dress I wore here, I hope you’ll pop back for a browse.
We did have a little sunshine yesterday and it felt quite hot, but the sun was interrupted by clouds every so often, it’s such funny weather in the UK isn’t it!
You remember all the kerfuffle with my gym instructor leaving, well I’ve been trying out some different classes as they’ve all been switched around! Until yesterday I’d been trying Body Attack followed by Spin, but a friend suggested I have a go at Fight Club. The name has always put me off as I prefer more of a dance style class, but gave in and tried it! I loved it! I borrowed some gloves (the worst bit, because they smelt awful), so I’ll need to buy my own and very soon! Lots of jabbing, punching, uppercuts and body shots combined with star jumps, squats and jogging on the spot and the class was soon over! I’ve booked again for next week and hopefully I’ll have my own gloves by then!
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
I love afternoon tea and equally love a tea dress.
The elegant way they hang makes you look sleek, glamorous and very feminine it’s no wonder I loved this dress as soon as I saw it!
I’ve found lots of clothes I love in Matalan. The price, quality and styles work well for me and I ALWAYS see something that catches my eye and just has to return home with me. No surprise that my recent visit I came home with two dresses and a pair of trousers! You can see the other dress when I styled it for the Style not Age challenge last month.
I know ladies over a certain age (not sure exactly what age) shouldn’t wear boring beige, but I can’t help but be drawn to anything in this shade as it always offers up a sophisticated, classic feel and this dress is no different.
A polka dot print that’s very much ‘Pretty Woman’ - I just need the hat and gloves (oh it’s all about the gloves today isn’t it 😂).
I love the length, again it screams stylish doesn’t it. Even though it’s long I still feel less is more, less leg shown, hiding a multitude of sins lol!
The little puffy sleeve covering any areas that create insecurities, my arms have turned into old ladies arms with saggy skin in my armpit and no definition (hoping my new gym class will help this), so until then I’ll happily wear these sort of style.
It’s got a round neckline that has a little button on the rear - along with a gathered bust area which creates a flattering shape that the likes of Marilyn Monroe would be proud of!
I completed the look with suede court shoes which I’ve had for ages. My round Ted Baker bag gives extra dimension because the tan is really noticeable, as are my new earrings and necklace which were both gifted from Roc Jewellery * All the pieces are personally made by Annie herself over on the Welsh coast. Do have a look at her stunning collection of handmade gemstones set in unique gold plated settings. I’m smitten with my choices of heart shaped Quartz drop earrings and matching pendant and have a discount code for 15% off, please use the code

I don't think beige has to be boring, it depends how you wear it. Nice dress and most of us over 50 prefer short sleeves than sleeveless x
ReplyDeleteThat’s true Gail. I like it paired with tan, lifts it up a bit x J

DeleteSuch a pretty dress. I love the style and length. I never heard women over a certain age weren't supposed to wear beige, I thought that was the colored we were 'allowed' to wear. :) All these rules for us older women, rubbish. :)
ReplyDeletePerfect dress isn’t it. Glad you like it. J xx
DeleteBeige doesn't look boring on you at all, in fact it's pretty chic and elegant. How good of you to try a new class! And enjoy the sun while you can, I will too!

DeleteBeige is fun to wear just as colors are! We have had lots of thunderstorms lately but still a lot of sun which is nice. This week has been busy, but we only have a little less than 2 before school starts back. I think I will be glad for a routine but I might get a little bored with the boys at home during the day.

DeleteYes I hear that the weather in the UK has been very dicy. Glad you saw some sun. This is such a fun polkadot dress and the sunnies are great. The heart earrings are a nice way to pick up the color of the polkdadots.
