New Season Essentials from Bonmarche.

Good morning my friends.
Seems we're flying through August aren't we!

After hectic weeks It's been good to slow down and enjoy a quieter weekend. I had Max on Saturday and introduced him to the Peter Rabbit film. It’s all about the children’s story written by Beatrix Potter featuring the fictional character Peter and his family and shares all the funny antics they get up to. Peter is voiced by James Corden, whose wit and personality shines through - do watch it with your kids, grandkids or just watch it alone, it’s a fun one to see - I guarantee you’ll love it.
Max was smitten and nearly watched it all the way through! I was in my element too as I really enjoy watching kids films.

Sunday we had a small BBQ nothing fancy but it was good. My daughter prepared most of the food, with the help of my other daughter and my son was in charge of bbq-ing so I could sit back and relax and then enjoy some delicious food making the most of the warmer albeit cloudy weather by sitting in the garden - I’m not sure how long that’ll be happening eh! I’ve also noticed the thing I hate! The nights are starting to draw in! Winter will be upon us before we know it! Urgh!

As promised on Thursday today I'm sharing some new in pieces from Bonmarche.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

Jeans play an important part in my Autumn/Winter wardrobe, so it's been helpful to try this Mom style out -  along with two jackets and a midi dress c/o Bonmarche.

Like you I've been through all sorts of jean styles embracing some with love but others with angst - I think I've finally found what suits me best!  I love the wide leg jeans and feel they balance out my pear shape nicely.  With that being said I'm still reluctant to let go of my skinnies!  So when I popped Molly * on I found them rather a good style for me and felt really comfortable in them too! They are high waisted and have tapered legs that I turned over once for a contrasting finish. Typical pockets and belt loops make them a classic and versatile pair you need in your wardrobe - please order a size up as they do come up a tad small.  I paired them with a white crochet top and a trendy new jacket in the seasonal favourite shade of sage green.

I like this lighter shade and reckon it’s going to come into its own in the new season. My faux Leatheris going to team nicely with tan & a few other colours so I’ll be searching for some more pieces in this shade so I can get the most wear from it throughout Autumn.

Back to the dress. It fits nicely into my Autumnal wardrobe and I’m sure you’ll see more of it. It’s got a V neckline and  3/4 sleeves that have an elastic cuff. The diamond print * pattern, which is a sultry shade of aqua, is fully lined and has a pretty gathered tier on the bottom giving it a nice swish when moving. The shirred waist makes the midi so easy to wear and thus creates a flattering silhouette but leaves you relaxed and feel very stylish.

This
is the ideal style for cooler weather when a jacket popped over the top will be sufficient to keep you warm. Switch the espadrilles for something with a bit more coverage like ankle boots or trainers which would make this a perfect number for casual days or changeable weather. I’m excited to wear this one again, do watch-out for it on Instagram!

I was lucky enough to receive a second jacket in the gifted package which is this very pretty Jean jacket. * I’ve had my traditional denim jacket for years now. It wears and washes so well and I take it on holiday nearly every year. I know this new one, which has dainty flowers embroidered on the shoulders will work just as hard for me over the next few months, probably years!
It’s got pockets and typical stud buttons along with a fashionable collarless finish, it’ll look gorgeous with a high neck jumper or crisp white shirt. What would you team it with?

Good to have you here, thanks so much for joining me.
I'll see you on Thursday for the linkup and the following Monday for Style Not Age instalment.
See you then my friends. X
