Dark Florals for Autumn - Chicandstylish Linkup

Morning all.
How are you my lovely friends?

It’s been a great week after a busy weekend.
Friday night was the usual ballroom class and we’ve been learning the waltz and I have to say it must be one of my favourite dances. I’m really getting to grips with it and enjoy sliding over the dance floor embracing every move with enthusiasm and vigour. I’m learning to lean back from the shoulders which makes the whole experience much more fulfilling (Strictly season is just around the corner so I’m all the more interested in getting it right - just incase eh! 😉)
Saturday night I went out with my sister and our hubby’s & you can hear and see our delicious dinner here.
On Sunday I looked after Max and did a bit of clearing up the spoil from the hedge I’d trimmed the day before, it was a slow day after my night out and I have to admit to not feeling like doing much at all!

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

You all know how much I like wearing dresses and try to put them on for every occasion. Dresses shouldn’t be saved for special events so I know this one will get plenty of wear in the coming months!

The extra buttons fasten on the inside and are hidden from view.

For me this is more of a causal style with long sleeves and dark floral pattern that’ll look super worn with boots and a little jacket for when the weather turns cooler.

The midi from Cotton Traders, which is a shirt dress is a riotous mix of pink white and black florals which lends itself to being the ideal colour scheme for Autumn. Dark florals always find their place in cooler seasons so I’ve no doubt this will be a popular choice for me to reach for. Are you a wearer of this fashion look?
A typical shirt dress * with collar, long sleeves and cinched in waist - this is achieved by the half elastic waistband on the back leaving the front flat and much more flattering, and guess what? …. It’s got pockets! Anything with pockets gets my vote for sure. 👌

The dress has an interesting and really helpful double button detail in the bust. The extra buttons fasten on the inside and are hidden from view. It’s a brilliant way to stop any gaping in that area which can often be really annoying!
I’ve got a little IG reel showing this which I’d love you to see.

Picking out the pale pink flower in this pattern I chose my stylish pink bag from Teddy Blake that’s still available on the website. * I love the size of this open bag, I’ve taken it out to London for the day even fitting some flats in it along with all the essentials I needed!

I just felt the dress needed a heel so popped my block sandals (similar) on and liked the casual vibe they gave. This is more an outfit for shopping, lunching or a quick drink with hubby, although the sandals worked a treat for my nephews wedding, which was on grass last year. Chunky heels are so easy to wear on softer surfaces like grass. X

  7. The floral shirt dress looks great on you! Isn't it lovely to find a versatile dress that can be worn spring and fall, casual and dressy? My husband and I ballroom dance also. As a matter of fact, it is how we met! Waltz is my very favorite dance too. The closed position dances are quite a challenge for us, because we have a giant height difference! Enjoyed your post, thanks for the link up and have a great weekend!
