How on earth did that happen? Way over half way through the year, we'll be talking about Christmas soon!
How's your week been? Mine's having a bit of a lull after a busy few weeks, I really need it though.
I went shopping with a friend on Monday, but have to say I was really underwhelmed by the shops in my local city of Canterbury. So many stores have closed down making way for restaurants and eateries along with charity shops (nothing wrong with CS I might add) but all the big stores have gone from our town centres making it more like a ghost town. M & S did have some lovely pieces (this skirt is on my wish list) and Fenwicks had lots of lovely dresses, sandals and shoes but with hefty price tags attached to them!
Needless to say I didn't come home with anything, but will be checking the skirt out online it’s got a cute little top to match it and I'll see what else they have to offer for home delivery too!
Today I’m actually going out with my mum and sister. We’re going to Hempstead House for lunch. I’ll let you know how it goes my friends.
Today I’ll show a dress I bought when I popped out for a card!
Hands up who’s guilty of buying clothes when you’re supposed to be getting something else?
I went into my local town last week and had found myself wandering around Peacocks. I spotted this dress and thought it’d be a perfect style for casual wear and my upcoming trip to Porto! I think I nabbed a bargain as when I got to the till I was asked if I’d like to sign up for a 10% discount. I willingly agreed and bought this for just over £15!
It’s a fine knit cream midi that’s got a thin black horizontal strip running through it. I know it used to be said that stripes running horizontal aren’t particularly flattering but because these are very thin I think it works well. Do you wear stripes like this?
I didn’t want to interrupt the classic feel so kept the accessories neutral too. A soft leather black bag, that’s compact but big enough for all essentials. Mine is from Daniella Lehavi and I not only love the style but the front pattern detail too.
I’ve been wearing chunky flats a lot recently so reached for these heels. The vegan sling-backs are so comfortable. Even with this high heel they’re soft on my feet, so much so I’ve got them in black too and wore them to London a couple of years ago when I visited The Shard. They look every bit like leather & and are extremely soft to touch.

Isn't it super Kathrine, I'm really pleased with it and also I'm so pleased you joined my linkup. x
DeleteSchool started today, so I am back to having some free time during the day. Granted, I still took time for myself this summer as the boys are old enough to entertain themselves at home for an hour or so. We are all a little bit under the weather though so hoping that we all feel normal by the weekend. Lovely dress: I haven't had a striped dress in a while but I do like the thin stripes on this one!

Oh enjoy the time alone Mireille, nice when they are a bit older so you can do things without having to worry about them. Thanks for stopping by. x
DeleteI love a striped dress! You're right about town centres, I'm always sad when I go to Plymouth and see what's happened there xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you do Gail, It's so sad isn't it! Don't think it will ever be the same now. x
DeleteMy hand is definitely up! It's really hard not to wander into the clothing section for a peak, when you run out to buy a bottle of shampoo. Love this knit dress on you. I think it is very flattering and the long column is very slimming. Thanks for sharing and the link up, and hope you have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteHe he, glad I'm not alone. So pleased you could join me today. x
DeleteThere's really not much shopping around me, either. There are a couple of boutiques which carry more fast fashion than anything. Mostly, we have the discount stores close. If I travel about 45 minutes, I can go to a somewhat upscale mall, but it's being overrun with lots and lots of atheleisure stores. I do wonder if this is the way retail will be going. I hope not as I really prefer to try things on.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in this fun dress. I can't often find anything but horizontal stripes. I wonder if vertical stripes are harder to sew? But, horizontal stripes don't bother me. Thanks so much for the link up! I hope you'll link up with us over at the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

ReplyDeleteShelbee
Me too and this one is super, thanks for stopping by Shelbee. x
DeleteLove your striped dress. Perfect summer look! So sad when we look at the decline of our towns - my children can't believe it when I describe our town of yesteryear, so vibrant and safe, not now.

Awe thanks so much Alison, so pleased you like it. Have a super week. x
DeleteThe dress looks fab on you Jacqui! What a bargain too! The high street in general is very disappointing, I love browsing in shops but there are hardly any good ones left now - lots of vape and betting shops though unfortunately. I bet Porto will be good for shopping, it's on my list of cities to visit!
