Smart Skirt, Casual Tee - Chicandstylish Linkup

Hello and thanks for stopping by.
How are you all doing?

I’ve been enjoying a few quieter days and haven’t even been to the gym so had a bit of time for photo taking and reel making. I’ve got a lot more enthusiasm for Instagram recently which has been really helpful. Do pop over to check them out and let me know what you think. If you’d like to follow me on there, here’s a link!

I’ve planned to pop into town today, first time in ages! I've been so disillusioned with the local shops and hope they might have improved! Fingers crossed for that! I want to see what’s ‘new in’ in M & S along with Zara and H & M, have you been checking the stores out in person or seeing what’s new online?

Today’s outfit is all shopped from my wardrobe and came about because of this satin skirt. Read on to find the backstory to this slinky midi.

Last week I came across this skirt in my wardrobe and realised I’d been saving it for best! I imagined wearing it with a pretty top and high heels for a dinner date or night out but seems I only like wearing dresses, so haven’t worn it yet. I figured it was a bad idea to keep stuff for best and set about styling it for a casual every day look.
I rather like the outcome my friends, do let me know what you think and would you wear this edgy style for everyday wear?

Now you know the skirt was a new one and it’s from Shein. It’s a bias cut and after lots of searching and trying on I found this particular style suited me the best. I also purchased a black one from them but must admit to it not being quite the same fabric and doesn’t fit so well. This one is a thicker fabric with a lot more weight to it therefore it’s a firmer fit and has a nice hold to it.

This shade of blush cream will look super with loads of colours so I’m going to try other Tee shirts and maybe even a jumper when it gets cooler.

I picked my ‘out of office’ Tee shirt and love the laidback feel it created. I’ve had this shirt for what seems like forever! I’ve worn it on summer holiday overs denim shorts and also over a thermal rollneck when I’ve been skiing and I know I’ll be taking it again when I go (god willing) skiing again next year!

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of my jean jacket, it’s been to so many places with me and still looks like new! It washes and wears brilliantly so I’d recommend adding one to your collection as soon as you get the opportunity my friends. I’ve got a white one and a pink one and picked this one from Bonmarche a couple of weeks ago that I’ve only worn once but I know it’ll get lots of use like this one!

Final I added my trainers to really up the casual anti. Wearing flats is also great for running errands and I felt really confident when I wore this last outfit week, I aim to get more use from this satin beauty and hope you’ll look out for it on IG when I do. Is this something you’d wear? I’d love to know your thoughts. X
