My Chanel Inspired two piece.

Hello everyone
How’s it going?

I’ve had a mad weekend really, it all started really well but went downhill rather quickly on Saturday. My youngest managed to fall from a scaffolding tower and spilt his underarm open - so I spend most of Saturday in A & E.
He was helping at my daughter’s new build when the injury happened, suffice to say he won’t be doing that again in a while. Fortunately they are nearly at a stage of interior painting etc. He ended up with five stitches and some antibiotics & the sad thing is he’s off to Centre Parcs today so won’t be able to ride the bike or swim!
Isn’t it such a worry when our kids grow into adults, we still worry and care about them but have to leave them to their own devices and not get too involved. If anyone has learnt how to do this please let me know! 🫣

Sunday, I’m pleased to say was an improvement with David and I and his sisters’ and brother visiting our nephew for his birthday. We had a wonderful lunch compromising of pulled pork and all the extras, paella with some delicious salads - Greek, carrot & beetroot and burrata with rocket, peaches and pine nuts. Everything was delicious and the afternoon ran smoothly with only the addition of better weather improving it!

I ended up wearing this dress yesterday which was perfect for the cooler temperatures, but this cute little number would have been a possibility had I managed to get them in smaller sizes.

Cute little styles like this Chanel inspired two piece are really popular now and I have to say I’ve seen lots like this online and in shops recently.  If you’re a fan of this style do have a look in Primark as this co-ord is reasonably priced and feels good on.

I never really wear short skirts or dresses as I don’t feel I have the legs for them, however when I saw this one I figured I’d quite like to try it out. I got a bigger size, which is in fact too big, and pulled it down so it sits more on my hips which obviously made it sit longer and just above my knees which I think looked okay so I got away with it. But being a bit bigger on me made me want to get it in a smaller size. I’ll be having a look in the other branch and hope they’ll have one suitable. Also the cardigan was a tad large as well so again I’m going to see if it’s available smaller too!

It’s a fine knit but still quite thick and has bold horizontal stripes over the elasticated waist skirt. It also has fake pockets and brass buttons on either side which sit roughly hip level. Cream and black are go to shades making this neutral beauty rather elegant don’t you think?
The cardigan has similar pockets on the bust area and big brass buttons running down the front that are fully able to undo. I fancy this cardi will look great over jeans and a casual shirt too.

I added the conventional favourite of black accents so picked ankle strap sandals which have pointed toes and block heels. I popped on tights too, these thin denier tights are slightly tanned in shade so give my legs a flattering hue of suntan. 🧡
I love everything about this bag. My arm candy is gorgeous, it’s big enough to get everything I need in it, has helpful handles that can be hand held or popped over my shoulder and has a fancy hanging Valentino tassel (similar) on the press stud fastening. It’s just delicious isn’t it. X

Thanks very much for joining me today. Much appreciate your support.
Catch you again on Thursday for the linkup.
Bye for now. X

  2. I'm so sorry to read about your son's injury. I hope it heals quickly for him. What a way to start a weekend. But, your outfit is definitely a wonderful way to end one! I do love the Chanel vibes it gives. I really like the way you've styled it with the black shoes and bag...which is absolutely gorgeous!
