Hope your weekend went well.
It’s the last Monday of the month so shall we take a look at what the latest challenge is for the ladies from Style not Age? It’s perfect for October …
Autumn Hues. 🍂
Our prompt is right on cue as we’re well and truly in the midst of autumn. The leaves have started to turn gorgeous shades of red's, browns, yellows and oranges, and the weather has changed typically to having cooler, wet and dewy mornings, making way for warmer, sometimes sunnier afternoons - we really are lucky here in the UK, the sights to see are splendid and worth taking a walk in the woods for. I took full advantage of the weather to take these shots, only one little hiccup when I couldn’t find my remote for the phone when I got home. Endless searching in pockets, my bag, the car, around the car, back to scour the location only to return home succumbing to the thought of getting a new tripod and controller only to see it sitting on my worktop in plain sight! Do you ever lose something that’s staring right at you? 😂
So let’s share a little about my outfit, it’s all shopped from my wardrobe with some bits you’ve almost certainly seen before. Chocolate brown always reminds me of this season, the hazy sunshine casting shadows in the tree trunks which punctuate the mixed shades of all the Autumnal leaves that wait to fall onto the mud spotted grass. Reds can be spotted too and I could quite easily have added a jacket of crimson or orange which would have looked just as nice. Have you spotted mushrooms growing too! We’ve had some rather unusual types growing in the garden and I was going to take photos, but one had changed shape the next time I looked! The clocks went back yesterday and although it was luxurious to have an extra hour in bed, I actually hated the dark evening last night! Makes me really curl up and hibernate! How about you?
I went straight for my culottes and having not worn them for ages marvelled at how good they felt on. They fitted me perfectly which I’m surprised at as I’m sure I’ve put weight on since last wearing them. They’re faux leather in a luxurious shade of chocolate brown, & are coated with a soft lining on the inside which was great to feel against my skin. I’m not totally in love with the waist, it’s a pleated top that sits upright and isn’t particularly flattering, but with a shirt tucked in and jacket over the top wasn’t really noticeable. I switched the tie belt for my Ralph Lauren beauty - this was a very pleasing Christmas present a couple of years ago and a nice addition to my wardrobe.
I’ve got this delicious chocolaty brown shirt that’s silky and very elegant which I popped on. The colours match nicely and it's smooth and comfy to wear - much like the trousers. This is from Zara a few years ago but I found this one that’s current now.
I topped the whole outfit off with a faux leather jacket, my cream moto jacket (similar) gave it coffee vibes. The length works really well as it sits in the waist which I mentioned above I wasn’t keen on! Leopard print is always in fashion and often my go to neutral, this scarf is a godsend and has also doubled up as a cover up in the sunshine. ☀️
First to show off their goods is Hilda - Over the Hilda who’s chunky knitted cardigan is just the ideal choice for this season and could be worn with a whole host of other Autumnal colours. Will be a warm addition too!
Doesn’t Anna look tremendous in her aspiring outfit? Both these shades scream autumn and the jacket is a welcomed addition for The next couple of months, and maybe into the Spring! Checkout the full look on her blog Anna’s Island Style.
Emma’s also got the perfect tones going on with this trouser, jacket combo - do head over to Style Splash for all the details
Finally it’s Gail’s turn to share her seasonal look. You can see she picked similar colours to me, we all like a bit of coffee and cream don’t we! Do head over to her blog Is This Mutton? for all the deets.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, do let us know if you like the Autumnal hues we’ve been sharing with you, and would you wear any of these outfits?
Catch you on Thursday for the linkup and until then take and care fun.
All the best … x
Lovely autumnal outfit. Funny how we all chose more or less the same shades and no orange. But then, chocolate brown is trending!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Gail, I do love this chocolate shade. x
DeleteThose chocolate brown culottes were the first thing I noticed in this outfit, I love them so much on you!! They work great with those boots too for the fall! That jacket is the cherry on the top for this outfit! We are starting to get all the beautiful fall foliate here too. I really need to go to my favorite park and take a long walk and enjoy it all before it is gone!

Love this whole look Jacqui! I recently had to ditch my favourite faux leather trousers when they simply rotted away - unfortunately I was on my way to the dentist when I noticed this and had to dodge into a local shop to buy another pair of trousers to save my modesty!
