Denim Skirt from cotton Traders - Chic & Stylish Link up.

Hi everyone.
How’s it going?

Hasn’t this year just gone in the blink of an eye!  I’m thinking about things happening earlier in the year and it turns out they’re things from the year before! I think I’ve just been waiting for Summer to arrive and hadn’t noticed the year just fly by!

The weather has turned cold and quite nasty to be honest. I hate the rain and it’s arrived with a vengeance although no snow here … yet! I’m chilly as well so want to lounge around in tracksuits under a throw really! I spent a hour yesterday trying to take some photos and got totally disheartened. The sun was shining creating too many shadows in my dressing room but it was still quite windy so I didn’t trust my tripod falling over and smashing my phone, I’ve got something else planned later today as I’ve got some smashing Christmas outfits to share with you in the coming weeks. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly.

I wore this skirt on Tuesday and realised I’d not shared this Cotton Traders beauty with you. It’s a stunning skirt for sure and one I feel right at home in.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

A very fashionable style to wear that’s topping the trend stakes this season as they flatter lots of shapes. I find this style really helpful for my figure and feel it’s a good look for me.  This particular version * is made from denim that has a slight stretch to it, which gets another big tick from me as does the length and front split along with the deep side pockets. It’s available in a range of sizes which are true fitting and the light wash is just right for warmer and cooler seasons alike. It’ll be perfect in Spring worn with a lightweight jacket and Tee shirt and is equally as nice worn with fine knits, boots and jumpers like I’ve featured here.

You can see it’s my favourite length - midi, that means it finishes mid calf between the knee and ankle. I find this is the best look for my height and shape and most of my dresses and skirts boast this length. It also covers up my knees, a particular pet hate of mine.
This skirt makes a nice opening for boots too. Either long knee length styles or three quarter picks like mine. I adore these tan suede boots and was pleased to find them on EBay after spotting them in my local Clark’s but they didn’t have my size - I found my size for half the price, oh I do love a bargain, do you?

When these photos were taken I’d worn a weather appropriate short sleeve fine knit and check jacket with it. Can you tell whose jacket I’ve borrowed? Yep it’s David’s and doesn’t it fit right in! It’s probably a tad too big, but the sleeves ruched up nicely with my elastic arm bands and I’d be able to fit another layer underneath for cooler weather too.

Tan belt and bag finished the outfit perfectly. They blend in with my boots and make a statement of the skirt which was what I wanted. Got a lovely compliment when I wore it like this and I felt just as good when I teamed it with my chunky jumper.
