Style not Age are Golden Girls.

Morning everyone.
How did your Christmas go?

Mine went really well, I’m so pleased it wasn’t the usual stressful buildup with me worrying at every opportunity, did have enough of everything, were the presents right, had I spent an equal amount on the kids etc, the stress involved makes my blood pressure almost burst! If I’m honest the reason I was so laid back was the extremely sad & unexpected loss of a friends daughter, I won’t go into any detail but the young 21 year old lost her life due to a rare illness that hadn’t been discovered until about 6 weeks before her passing! It’s all been a big shock to me and my family let alone how it’s affected her family & close friends. It’s made me look at life in a whole different way. There’s so many bigger things to worry about so therefore Christmas and all it brings is low on the list. Suffice to say everyone had a lovely time and were happy with their gifts.

Our Christmas dinner was delicious too, there was 6 of us on the 25th followed by 20 on Boxing Day. The table setting worked out okay too, we moved the smaller table into the dining room which the kids sat round - making use of the ‘make do’ chairs … anyone else use a hop up stand with a cushion and table cloth on it?? 🤭
I’d made my traditional chicken liver pate, red cabbage and David produced an amazing gravy from the stock made from the giblets, a dying trend I think as most people use a stock cube and hot water! How do you make your gravy?

I got some amazing present and was very spoilt, although my list was smaller this year, for obvious reasons and most were items I needed more than just what I wanted! One thing in particular was a dressing table stool. It’s a very welcomed addition which has a padded seat that’s got a storage compartment and it’s very sturdy.

So back to today’s post. It doesn’t seem that long ago it was the beginning of 2024 and I was excited to see what that would bring. Well I’ve had another granddaughter to spoil and love along with helping build our new house along with helping my daughter in her new extension, it’s been a very busy year! I wonder what 2025 holds?
As it’s the last Monday of the month and year, it’s the last Style not Age challenge too. Our prompt was set by Emma, and her choice was met with enthusiasm as there was so many possibilities.  Let’s see how well we completed ….

Bonmarche Knitwear - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Good morning my friends.
How are you doing?

This will be the last post before Christmas as things are proving busier than I anticipated. I’ve got most things sorted and no major plans to do anything but I want to chill and get everything ready without any dramas!  Are you all sorted for the big day?

Today I’m meeting the ballet ladies for a Christmas lunch. It’s nice to see people in a different setting when there’s more time to chat about other things rather than ballet talk. We’re going to a chain restaurant that’s just down the road from me and I’m excited to see what’s on the menu ( I love Christmas dinner, but think that’ll be too much as I normally have a meal with David in the evening so we shall see). In the morning I’m planning to wrap my presents and then I can work out the remainder of gifts I need which I need to get, to be honest, isn’t that much!

I also managed to do a little reel today, it’s for my IG account but I’m sharing the pieces with you today, can you guess what I’ll be wearing Christmas Day?

Festive clothes from Roman.

Hi there.
How’s are you?

Another busy week for me resulting in no blog post or linkup on Thursday, apologies for that. I think we must all have that problem at this time of the year, something has to give doesn’t it! Will try to get back to normal soon. 🤞

Have you been out on any Christmas ‘do’s’ yet? I’ve been out once with David when we had a meal with friends in a local restaurant. We went with four friends and you can find out all about my night further on!

I’m also out on Saturday to see a show in London and the following day out to a venue on the coast that’s got a tribute singer that I’m excited to see and we’ll have some drinks and a meal there too. Quite excited to dress up and get into the festive spirit.

Today’s post features some elegant and fancy festive clothes that I’ll be putting to good use this next month or so and in the years to come as I always opt for classic styles rather than fashionable trends. Can you guess what I’ll be wearing next weekend? Answers at the bottom of this post!

Styling a Black Sequined Jumpsuit.

Good morning everyone.
How’s your week gone?

I’ve had a lovely weekend as on Saturday night I went out with friends for our Christmas meal. We went to a local restaurant that’s decor is like a ski lodge, actually it’s called Rock Lodge and made me think of my skiing holiday in the Alps. We all had the Christmas menu which was delicious and included a glass of Prosecco on arrival which they forgot to serve. Fortunately my friend mentioned it to the waitress who proceeded to serve us a full bottle which we merrily consumed … after we’d drunk the first bottle I might add! 🤭
I’m a typical Christmas dinner supporter and opted for traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings - it was delicious and really did get me into the Christmas spirit! I can’t wait for the big day to arrive as dinner is one of the best bits for me, with homemade gravy being top ingredient.

I’d planned on wearing a dress, but ended up putting this stunning jumpsuit on, read on to find out all about it.

Christmas Wreath Making - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Morning all.
Sorry it’s a late post today, another week that just ran away from me!

The house is looking very festive and I’ve nearly finished adding to my decs. Are you like me and have to buy a new decoration or two when you see them?

On Tuesday I went to the pantomime. We’d booked it ages ago and it was nice to have the evening finally arrive and even nicer that I’d already paid. The kids loved it and the excitement in their faces was magical. Calling out, singing and getting involved is the name of the game for watching a pantomime and they certainly did all that, (as I did too) 🤭 … oh yes I did!

Earlier this morning I went to my friend’s house for Christmas wreath making. She’s a brilliant teacher and has a knack for making things look beautiful, you can see how it went on my stories on IG.

How’s your week been?

Welcome to December! It’s scary just how quick this year has gone hasn’t it! 2025 sounds months away but in reality it’s just around the corner. I’m looking forward to the new year as I always do, excited to see what the new year brings, what fashions will be around, what holidays there will be for me, if my new house is finished and lots more exciting things that will come up unexpectedly for sure, but that’s the joy of life isn’t it!

So as you well know a new month means we say goodbye to the last one but it’s nice to look back on November & marvel at some of the amazing fashion trends I shared with you. ❤️
