How did your Holiday festivities go? Did you have a wonderful time seeing in the new year?
The last few days were typical “twixmas”, with me not quite knowing what day it was!! David has been off work which has been lovely & I’ve not been to the gym or any classes so everything has been upside down, I love having David at home but can’t wait to get back to my gym classes and I’ve got my first booked next Monday. I’m also undertaking Dry January. I did it last year and surprised myself at how easy it was. I’m hoping this year with be the same, so I’ll be getting the Nozeco in for starters!
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
Did you get some nice gifts? I was really lucky as usual and had some amazing presents. Among them was a dressing table chair that I mentioned in Monday’s post. I also received perfume, some black boots, some stretchy belts, a microphone for when I’m creating IG posts (I’m excited to try it out) a purse, chocolates, some Neal’s Yard skincare and a few other bits and pieces. If you read Mondays post you’ll understand why I had a smaller list than in previous years and just wanted to have my family with me and us all to have a tasty dinner - which I had to add we did!
On New Years Eve David and I went out with our four friends to a local pub, they weren’t doing a big party, but just had music playing all night and fortunately it wasn’t very busy so we had a table to use. The three girls just sat and chatted as did the three men up at the bar, I must be getting old as it was a much better night than being pushed and shoved by party goers and not being able to hear what my friends are saying! With that being said I love a party and like nothing more than dancing to good tunes - namely 80’s music so I can’t be that old eh?
I opted for comfort and popped on my favourite wide leg trousers which are faux leather. They were in a gifted package from Roman before Christmas and have come in handy as they’re not only easy to wear but look amazing with lots of tops I have hanging in my wardrobe! They’re half elastic and a wide palazzo style (these are similar and have been drastically reduced) that’re really flatting on.
I picked black boots that the kids got me for Christmas. I’d got lots of suede boots and flat Chelsea styles but had asked for a low stiletto, leather pointed toe pair and these from Next were just right! Found these similar for you.
With that being said I love a party and like nothing more than dancing to good tunes - namely 80’s music so I can’t be that old eh?

Happy New Year Jacqui! Sounds like a good way to celebrate the new year. Those trousers are pretty cool and the blouse is gorgeous! Fabulous colour.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful Christmas. I'm also keen to get back to the gym but hubster has scheduled a test drive which conflicts with Pilates today, grrrr! Happy New Year to you and your family x
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting what day it is too. I gave up drink for 100 days and after the first week or so it surprised me how easy it was too. This challenge ended on the day before Christmas Eve, so I have had a drink every night since! I need to get my Christmas stash drank so I can start again. Happy New Year, Jacqui. Love your outfit. Thanks so much for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the feature, Jacqui! I am glad I took the time to reflect a little in that post. Sounds like you had a nice evening out for NYE! I am hoping to plan a date for this month, I need to figure it out with my husband's schedule. That is one of my goals for the year to actually get out once a month on a date and not just talk about it. What a fun look! I have been wearing my pretty sweaters and skirts for church. The boys enjoy the velvets and the sparkles!
