Styling my Leopard Print Coat - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Good Morning my friends.
How are you?

I'm getting back into the swing of things now.  The house is sort of back to normal, but there is a gaping hole where Emily, Dan, Max and Violet once were, but I've seen them nearly everyday and we're off to their house for dinner tonight, so things aren't that bad! David and I went to our other daughter's for dinner in the week and I still have two at home, so it's still a very busy and very much a fun-anything-can-happen household.

I've been taking photos again in my dressing room and have moved things around so I've got a bit more space which is good - you'll have to let me know what you think of my latest photos, because these were taken in there on Tuesday.

Now it's all about my new coat today.  I spotted a friend on Instagram styling a similar version and loved the whole look so set about re-creating it.  It's not a total copy but basically very similar - with my twist on it.  Here's a link to my friends look, let me know if you think I've succeeded please. X

Since seeing Alison's outfit I spent some time checking out leopard print coats both online and in shops.  I eventually found this one in George @ Asda.  It's a supermarket that sells clothes and I've often bought stuff from them because the styles and quality are very good with prices that are really very reasonable, so when I saw this one in my local branch I had to try it on.  It fitted really well and was all that I'd been looking for.

I wanted a long coat that finished mid-calf, this ticked that box along with having a nice revere collar and buttons for fastening.  The only negative is that the pockets are mock.  I adore pockets on anything and like to shove my hands in along with maybe my phone, car keys or tissue - not sure how this will fare but I'm going to keep it regardless, I'll just have to put up with it.  Although I wonder how easy it would be to put pockets in!  Any help will be kindly accepted my friends. X  It's a great price too!  It was £38, maybe that's the reason it's now sold out online and I'm so pleased I managed to get the last medium in my local store.

Let's tell you about the rest of my look.  I picked up the trousers the other day when I was looking for a jumper to use for the Style not Age challenge.  Unfortunately I didn't find what I was looking for, but did manage to bag these which were a bargain price of £6, yes you read that right ... £6 - for that price I couldn't take them back especially when they looked so nice and fitted perfectly.  They're a wide leg style made of faux leather fabric which has side pockets (tick), belt loops (another tick) and are a delicious chocolate brown shade.  They were in the sale section therefore size options were limited, but I managed to find my size in the correct length (love when a shop offers different leg lengths).

The jumper has been on repeat ever since I bought it, so much so I also found a black and green version in Primark.  They wash up very well and as they are fitted look very neat on and would make many outfits work well - I like to pair mine with jeans and an oversized jacket - oh I'm longing for jacket season.  It's such a short one in my eyes as it's either too hot or too cold to wear them.  I've got loads of options so I'm eager for better, warmer weather to arrive.

Scarfs & neck-ties are making a comeback, I know for some of you they never left did they.  But I've seen lots of ladies teaming them with both casual and dressy outfits, they really do finish an outfit off don't they?
This little chiffon one was given to my daughter. When my best friend's mum passed away she gave everyone at the funeral one of her scarfs to wear and remember her, well I had one as did my three daughters, so I get to borrow them if and when I need to.  This leopard print tie looks super with plain tops and finished off my look nicely.

I added my pewter boots which I think look great, they keep the neutral vibe going, but with an edge of shine.  I've got a little pair of silver shoes that I bought late last Summer.  They are perfect for so many of my outfits and I've worn these bling-y shoes with jeans and dresses on lots of occasions.

When my best friend's mum passed away she gave everyone at the funeral one of her scarfs to wear and remember her.

Finally the bag bought out the colours in my coat.  The typical leo print colours, of black and cream made my bag choice easy.  The porcelain bag from Sarah Haran works really well doesn't it!  Did you catch my little reel featuring this beauty?

It’s Chic & Stylish Linkup time.

Favourite post from last week is Emma - Style Splash.  Her coat is a rainbow of colours that spread happiness and joy in these dreary months following Christmas.  It's also going to be a helpful addition to lots of outfits because of the myriad of colours.  x

Good to have you here my friends, thanks for joining me.  I'll see you again in February (sounds ages away doesn't it)?  I'll be sharing the January Review on Monday, thankfully I've not forgotten like I did for December's Review.
See you then.
Cheerio. X
