How’s it going?
Another busy week after a busy weekend.
I went to my grandson’s birthday party on Monday evening - he had a roller-skating party and guess who just had to have a go? Yep me! It’s been many, many years since I donned a pair of skates and I did wonder if it was a silly thing to do, but I did it anyway. I put the boots on and immediately felt like I would fall over so I grabbed onto the side and carefully slid my way along till I got into the arena. Still I didn’t give up and gingerly pulled myself around the rink holding on all the time. The kids whizzed past me egging me on, but I didn’t leave the side. I did a couple more laps letting go at various times and grabbing onto the side again to steady myself. By the fourth circle I’d made some progress, actually letting go and trying to go round corners with a bit more elegance. By lap five I decided to take my boots off and quit while I was ahead. I didn’t want to tempt fate and hurt myself. But I’m pleased I decided to give it a go and promised to go again when my daughter takes the kids! Fingers crossed that goes well too! 🤞
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
So, I won a giveaway a few weeks ago and was delighted to receive a voucher from Ambrose Wilson for £200! Well I had a field day studying the website to pick my winnings. I eventually found some stunners and thought I’d share one of them with you today.
I figured the best thing to do was work out what was missing from my wardrobe. Like all of you, I’ve got an extensive wardrobe selection and have lots of dresses, skirts, trousers and tops to chose from everyday along with a huge choice of shoes (hubby counted them the other day and in one room there’s in excess of 80 pairs of shoes!) Ssh, don’t tell him about the ones in boxes in the other wardrobes … lol!
So what did I pick?
Even though I’ve got quite a lot of jeans I picked another darker pair that was a wide leg version, however as the darker jeans I’ve got are long & short I opted for a regular length so I could wear them with lower heeled shoe. The jeans I’m wearing here are a dreamy fit which have a slight stretch and the usual traditional additions. They fit like a dream and I was pleased to also get a smaller size since losing weight. Do let me know what you think of these trusty denims.
They offer so many interesting and different fabrics ranging from animal prints, traditional mixes, fruit and some timeless favourites - I’m loving this one I wore a few weeks ago - fortunately they don’t date either!
I’d also like to share my discount code with you.
Use JACQUI15 at checkout!
I love the style of this shorter jacket, it’s been a godsend in the cooler weather here in the UK, and it’s been an easy to chuck-on-and-go style. It looks great with jeans and trousers alike. Size wise I could have gone down a size smaller, but I’ll be able to pop a couple of layers under it come the really cold weather (hopefully not until Summer is over)!
Did you notice my trainers? I can’t recall if I’ve told you about them or not! So forgive me if I’m repeating myself. These come from M&S and having wanted a pair in this mocha shade I thought they’d be a great alternative to the pricey Adidas styles I loved. Here’s a link for these under £40 beauties. They fit like a dream and I’m super impressed at how good they look.
